"No tax increases were considered during the special session" because Richardson decreed that they could not be considered.

I just love how Richardson completely tied the hands of the legislators so that he could look like the big hero in vetoing some of these items.

The problem I have is that now we have a Governor who thinks he writes with the Golden Pen. If he had all of the answers - we wouldn't be in this mess!

The domestic violence program and pre-kindergarten daycare are the FIRST that should've gotten hairucts. One amounts to a short-sighted, feel-good operation that does absolutely nothing for the economy and deals with domestic violence AFTER the fact, which is too late. The second is a very expensive daycare program that lets parents go on about their business while those of us who pay taxes and need other government services have to stomach smaller and smaller paychecks and wince at the spectacle of eroding opportunities for higher education, for example. Clearly, this guy's priorities are to put the welfare class ahead of everyone and everything else.

How about cutting welfare for all the scum suckers killing our system. Next come unnecessary social service projects, and by unnecessary I mean all of them.

Come to think of it. Why don't these guys just pull the mask of and destroy this country already? Close schools, firehouses and police departments already, just as long as the generational welfare cases get to continue sucking our collective blood.
