If they have 10 employees or less they wouldn't have been under the minimum wage mandate. Let's say that. Want to go after them also? And nice of you to give away other people's profits after paying for the overhead, taxes, licenses etc.. Let's leave risk and insurance out of this. You are generous to a fault.

What are you talking about? If the minimum wage law says they have to pay a specific rate then they CANNOT go any lower than the set mandated rate. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED MINIMUM WAGE! Obviously they can pay more than that if they choose to. It has nothing to do with how many employees they have.

As for my examples I clearly said NET PROFIT which is after overhead (which by the way includes the rest of your list!)In business overhead means "operating costs" which includes taxes, licenses, insurance, etc. however it's really only continual expenses. Most often a license is a one time expense depending on the profession.

By the way a company's profits really aren't secret.

Read the bill. Would exempt businesses with fewer than 11 employees. A company's profits are a secret depending on how it is legally structured. Try sole proprietor. And licenses are often renewable. That is why many professions have CEU's. Try it for being an Electrician, for example. Thanks for the post.

I read the bill, but what does that change?

Okay rewrite if a company has $60,000 net and 11 full time employees then in total $1,760 in increased pay,$58,340...did that really change anything. Stop nitpicking!

10 or less employees affects around 17 percent of your state's employees so the other 83% have to suffer? LOL

Did I not say "Most often a license is a one time expense" however there are either none or practically none that need to be renewed monthly.

What company in America keeps their profits secret? They have to pay taxes. Plus Forbes and other periodicals publish company profits. However the secret is most often who gets what share of that profit....but as already noted it for sure isn't the employees.

http://www.nmlegis.gov/lcs/_session.aspx...

Some excerpts:

"..77% of the employers in the state have fewer than 11 employees.."

That means this proposed increase would affect a maximum of 23% of the states employers, most of whom receive large subsidies in the form of tax breaks. Thank you, Suzie.

"..there are numerous exemptions to the proposed minimum wage, including interns, apprentices, etc..."

The people who need it most are included in the group that will not see a wage increase. Thank you, Suzie.

And it is only the next step to really establish a salary czar who will set wages for everyone. It is only fair. Businesses are in it for the profit. What a concept. Thought it was just altruism. But then the poster must know, having a successful business, themselves.
The Chinese salary czar suggests $1.36 an hour!(China Free Trade Agreement)

The Mexican salary czar suggests $8 a day!(NAFTA)

The Costa Rica salary czar suggests $400 to $970 a month,(CAFTA)
depending on whether you have a university degree.

My 'celery' czar recommends another 'Bloody Mary'....make your own sammys, and remember, it's just a house.

She'll lower corp taxes but not increase pay.

The irony of a contradiction.

So the companies will earn more profit, by paying less in taxes, but they won't have to pay their employees more...so an increased profit margin.

Seems her business record speaks volume for where her heart lies.

Plus she's looking increasingly more stupid by fighting the film tax trying to vanquish it, but then after a national article comes out touting tourism in New Mexico because of the AMC TV show "Breaking Bad" she then backtracks and wants to support the film tax rebate.

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/mexico-governor-veto...

What's so funny is that during the campaign she supported it then once in office sought to do away with it and now wants to support it. Does she even know who she is?

you would have a better job if you went back to school and learned how to spell, speak and communicate properly instead of whining. If your post speaks to how you communicate you will never get above minimum wage.

Sorry
The dumb as craps are the one you should be tired
of.

They gave up a 30 cent a hour increase for
$1.00 and got nothing.

If I were a min wage person I would be happy
with $500 a year than nothing.

Thanks Billy Soules and the other dumb as craps!

Yep they are for the little guy alright.

All sentences should start with a capital letter. I would have thought a well educated person like yourself would have known that.

Actually, I have a college degree, which I used well. My current job allows me to fund my 2 children at a NM state college, since our state government has cut the lottery scholarship as well. I used slang because I wouldn't appreciate a watchdog such as "maybe" to know who I am or where I work.

So an additional thirty cents an hour is going to really make a difference? I doubt it very much. Guess you haven't gone grocery shopping lately, or had to pay rent, or a mortgage, or bought shoes lately, or toiletries. Guess you RePUKEans don't realize that people working and getting the big $7.50 and hour live below the poverty line. Oh well, as long as the Corporations make lots of profit that is all that counts with you RePUKEans.

Funny how our Governor goes to Rome to see the new Pope that is humble and supports the notion to help the poor and downtrodden and actually lives in a very modest way. He kinda talks the talk and walks the walk in real life. Then she talks about her mother being there and believing and all sanctimonious about it all and then returns and vetoes the minimum wage that helps the poor. How ironic and sad and hypocritical....and republican!

Sucia Martinez is only looking out for herself and her contributors, the Corporations. What I find sad, is the fools that vote Republican thinking they are making big, big money.

And the hits keep acoming. Massive tax breaks for the fat cats, and tax increases for the middle class, ya know, to offset the loss of revenues due to corporate tax breaks. Thanks Suzi.

And of course none of those below the poverty level get any assistance form the government - right? Like EBT cards and other subsidies...

Maybe you DumbasCRAPians who despise Reps should start your own businesses, or are you going to remain crybaby little whiney-butt consumers and live off subsidies from the sweat of others all your lives? Start a business and lets see if you change your tune!
