Republican Rick Virden wins an emotional race for Lincoln County Sheriff in a landslide. It was reported today that he resigned his position as Sheriff 4 days before the election. This was a highly emotional race with Independent Steve Sederwall, former Capitan mayor, ran for the seat. Sederwall sued Lincoln County to be put on the ballot after he was told he had a day to come up with 100s of signatures when he filed. Sederwall sued and prevailed. Then he filed a lawsuit to have Virden removed from the ballot. Sederwall claimed that Virden lied about where he lived which is a felony in the state of New Mexico. Sederwall lost that case but the judge recommended that he take his case to the Appellate Court.

It has come out that Virden resigned on Oct 31 without making any statement before the election. The Lincoln County Commissioners will appoint an Interim Sheriff until Virden is sworn in next January. It has been reported that the County Commissioners knew of the resignation before the election.

Steve Sederwall ran as an independent law and order candidate. He claims that crime and drugs are out of control in Lincoln County while the Sheriff's Dept. does little or nothing. Virden refused to debate Sederwall when he was put on the ballot. It appears that Lincoln County voters ignored Sederwall's claims and Virden won the race handily. Virden's resignation has restarted this bitter race and many Sederwall supporters are understandably upset.

It just goes to prove that Virden took a lesson from Russia's Putin about power. His under sheriff will be the puppet and Virden will retain power. Lincoln has twenty thousand pop men, women, and children. And 50% turn out to vote ? Sounds like Mexico and now the USA is no better. Recall.

Did anyone take the time to read Sederwalls accomplishments as a lawman ? If you did the choice would be logical.

I do believe the America that was is now gone forever. There is no justice, no self respect, no work ethic but only for a few that work hard and pay their tax. Now the U.S.A is just one big plantation of handouts and look the other way screaming bug eyed liberal pinheads. It's an Obamanation !

Virden has no respect for the law and he should not be the Sheriff. He ran his campaign hiding under his desk refusing to debate Sederwall. Now he just resigns 4 days before the election. Something is going on here and it spells coverup. I bet we find out as Virden continues to circle the bowl in Lincoln County.
