I noticed Rev. Lee Albertson signed the statement. I know him as I was a member of his church (First Congregational United Church Of Christ) when I lived in Albuquerque.

Isn't that amazing?

However, since there are FEW churches in this country that you have NOT been a part of in your endless moving it is not unlikely that you will know at least one person from every news story to hit the media.

Would not this be violating U.S. church and government separation?

How?

These are private entities expressing their opinions.

How is the government involved?

The bible ?! That old book ?! At my church, "St. Martin's Second Reformed Lutheran Church and Microbrewery of Tobyhanna", we got rid of all our old bibles years ago. For years we've been using "Pastor Bob's Poetry and Home Beermaking Guide" instead !:)

TIME, oldest Book ever written that remains 'current', how are we able to think, to reason, to live? God and without God there is emptiness, a mighty void, we would be no better than animals. THINK-use that structure God Himself gave us permission to use; OUR INTELLECT. Just in case we forget, there's the EternalBook to remind us. There's always somebody who knows better but The Bible is always there to set us straight. As the Bible, Itself says, we also need Teachers to guide us to our last breath. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, love's all around us when you know, read and follow Biblical Truth, All Written by GOD Himself Who's always giving the BEST.

The oldest books of the bible teach polygamy, slavery, animal sacrifice, and strict dietary laws. Is that what you are saying is "current" and that we should emulate ?

It is nice indeed to see so many religious leaders having the courage to practice what they preach while other churches have become little more than tax-exempt hate organizations.

and just how long ago was that? TIME, that gift God gave us. Polygamy: females always outnumber males, females need the help of the male to continue, males are most available to have women provide for their own needs. God says one MAN one WOMAN in the NEW TESTAMENT. A civilized society thinks. Slavery: human abusing each other, strenght, power, economy. Animal sacrifices: and there IS CHRIST, the ultimate sacrifice to end them all, some humans are stuborn, that's current. Strict dietary laws: diets are healthy as well as spiritual ways of communicating with God, current practice, try it The Bible has always been 'current'. Check it out, historically correct,as for God creating the universe and the earth in SEVEn DAYS it's all a matter of TIME and Who keeps it going. SEVEN DAYS, it's true.
