And now the guv wants it to go to a vote with the people. We voted for representatives who don't want to stand or sit on principles. What is there not to understand. There is no groundswell for a proposition. It is the cowardcritters at the Round House with their finger up in the....

The old I wash my hands of this trick. Go to the vote. Who do you want to free? Ask the mob. Not your problem or duty as a duly elected representative of the people. Thank you Pontius.

King says the AG office does not have authority over county clerks.
King has said it is unwise for county clerks to issue licenses since state law is unclear about same-sex marriages.
"We don't intend at this point to take any action against the county clerk in Dona Ana County. We feel like our position that the law is unconstitutional presents a barrier to us from bringing action in that suit," King said.
Lotsa Luck to anyone who can understand this.
What will most probably happen is that a county clerk will marry a gay couple, and the gay couple will then later at some time apply for some right or benefit in the state and have it denied because the person or agency refuses to recognize the marriage as valid. Then the couple will sue in state court, and the New Mexico courts will have to decide the matter.

And the courts once again...seems that the executive and legislative branches are two cowardly to face election on their principles. A test case. Though the guv wanted it to go to a public mob vote on rights. Seems to be the way it is all going.

Can't make this up...the NM Supremes ruled that you can't refuse to photograph a gay wedding...which is according to some like the AG illegal..so photographing an illegal wedding is illegal. Ruling was August 22.

I've always said this whenever people start screaming and crying about "activist courts"--the ONLY way a law gets put in front of a court to evaluate is if the legislative and executive branches aren't doing their jobs, leaving bad legislation to the courts to decide rather than fixing such obvious problems themselves.

As good as our system is, it's only as good as the stupidest idiots that are holding office. And as long as the American public is stupid enough to keep voting in idiots that are more interested in getting re-elected and competing to see who can pander the most to the latest group of religious wackos, than doing their job, this is going to be the way of things.

Please show us the law in NM that makes SSM illegal.

If the AG and the rest of the State can't find it then maybe we should hire you.

BTW do you also find lost children, dead bodies, and cancer in your psychic visions?

what are you talking about...did you read the quotes from the AG and Guv? i never said it was illegal. i just thought it was funny that it is illegal to take pictures of something that the supreme court finds they can't rule on. look at gary king...ask him. you obviously don't read posts.

sorry...make that legal to take photo of an event the supremes can't decide is legal or illegal. hard to keep the legalillegals straight.

Guess it is the Guv. Not gary king:

"King, a Democrat who plans to run for governor next year against Republican Gov. Susana Martinez, said New Mexico law effectively doesn't allow gay marriages although there's no statutory provision that specifically prohibits, or authorizes, gay couples to be married."

Read more here: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/gaysouthflorid...

so, it doesn't allow ssm but it does not prohibit or authorize such. Now there are terms of art. is he running for governor or what?

So he will do a California and not take it to court. Or he will. Oh, well. Guess it is too soon to tell which way the wind is blowing.

Too bad you are incorrect.

It's called equal application of the law. Or equality. Something you oppose.

Just want to go on reccord, once again.

I don't care what other consenting adults do with their genitalia in private.

It's none of my business.

And it's none of your business or the government's business.
