Is everyone aware that our park is trying to operate while understaffed? There are currently five positions unfilled at the park. When I contacted the governors office I received a call from Tommy Mutz, the director of State Parks, who said that they are unable to fill positions without approval from the governors office.
If these positions are not filled soon the park will lose its accreditation. The park is important to our community and to the region. It is the only zoo and garden specializing in the preservation and interpretation of the Chihuahuan Desert.
If you are concerned, please contact the governor, either by calling or by e-mail.
