Honoring our vets

Our only son is over in the Middle East, his only son is there also. Not just to honor them, but to honor all service people, now and before.....we'll be flying our flag. Hope everyone that has a flag will fly theirs also. If you don't have one, now, more than ever, you need to go buy one and fly it proudly. GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!

And we, many of us anyway, will be saying a little prayer for your Son's and all the rest. My only Son enlisted the afternoon of 911. During the next 5 years, he went to Basic Training then 3 tours to Iraq and was getting ready for the fourth tour when his enlistment was up. He is safe now, a college student. But the tours that he was gone, the days, nights that I never went to sleep, seemed to last forever. And for some reason I always thought "his war" was worse than the four and a half years I spent in Vietnam. So yes, their are many of US out here and we all know the "place" that you are in. Get them home safe.

Thank you Gunslinger915. I'm glad to read that your son is safe, and back in the U.S.A going to college.

Although neither my son, nor grandson, are on the front line fighting, it still makes me nervous they're even over there, and pray for their safe return, as I do all of them to come home, and soon.

Are YOU a Vet??? No, didn't think so. Im not sure what YOU think Democrats have done for US. But then YOU are just beating the drum for the Democrats, right, whether they have done anything for anybody or not. The V.A. hospitals, Doc's are over loaded. They have THOUSANDS of Vietnam Vets, Korea Vets, World War II vets to try and take care of. Many of them, the problems are simply old age now, complicated by War injuries, illnesses. And then everyday they have the troops from Iraq, Afghanistan coming thru the doors with missing body parts, PTSD, burned so badly their Momma wouldn't know them, and TBI. They, WE don't see your Democrats doing any more for any of these troops. They do make a lot of speeches today, yesterday, next Memorial Day, next Veterans Day. But where the hell is the money for more Doc's, hi-tech medical equipment. We got Murtha(D) scheming MILLIONS to support his Son's business, Polosi(D) scheming millions to support her husband's business, bridges to nowhere, MILLIONS for an airport that has 3 customers a week. Tax evasion, foreign bank accounts, living in Government rent controlled properties (Rangel-(D). So yes, we can be happy with everything your Democrats are doing to US. And Obama just continues to make it worse. So far everything that he and your Democrats have touched, turns to **IT. And the bottom line?? Obama and your Democrats will continue the war in Afghanistan and Iraq just BECAUSE.

Over the years it's forgotten, war is placed in our past

I don't think we all realize the importance veterans play

as they voluntarily serve America each and every day



We should honor the veterans for they act like a shield

Protecting us from danger, keeping America healed.

So if you would take a second to commemorate

You will instantly see

We owe veterans our gratitude

For they are the reason we are free

How can you bums, that drag political agendas into this, have the nerve to insult those of any and all parties who have put their differences aside to be there where the fight is taken to the enemy.
Shame on you - period. Have some decency and let the rest of us take a day off from the pettiness to honor those who are in uniform under any circumstances.

Look it up gunslinger. Republicans have a nonexistent record of supporting the military. The only thing they support are the defense contractors that line their pockets.
