Hi,
It is illegal for them to drill any closer to your property line that the current distance allocated for by the regulatory agency. Nor can they drill closer to your property line by directional drilling process.
If they do, then just email me and I'll help you out.
If you ever want to know what is down there on your property. I have technology that can see what's down there and would be happy to share that information with you.
can you please email me at "[email protected] " I have some ?? thanks

I was offered $125 in McKenzie Co by a firm called J.B. Minerals out of Billings, MT. Your offer is much better. Would you let me know who offered you this amount?

Wes,

Thanks for your reply. My mother is dealing with a Norm Harada of Sundance Oil Company. Besides the $400.00 (total) at lease signing for the 4 acres, she is entitled to 1/6 barrels of oil receipts from any future oil taken out of the 4 acres.

We signed a lease with JB minerals in September 2008 and after the initial 90 day contract, they "revised" it and then failed to send payment. Would not do business with them again.

We signed a contract with JB Minerals in September of 2007. Right before the 90 day draft was up, we received a "revision" to the contract which was under another 30 day draft. After the combined 120 days, we never received payment. Would not recommend doing business with JB Minerals.

Has anyone done business with Headington Oil? Is much happening in McKenzie county or are leases just being bought up in anticipation? What companies are really actively drilling in that area and best to lease with?

You and the CO CO kid are stupid. The oil companies know where they are at and noone is getting away with anything. If they drill on your mineral rights by law the oil company has to pay. Drilling a horizontal well on someone's land has nothing to do with being dishonest, its just the way its done. This saves the oil company money and doesnt change anything as far as the mineral rights owner. If they didnt do that there would be no oil wells being drilled at all.

Your not going to get rich off of 4 acres.$400 seems fair.

My experience is oil companies are very un trustworth they lie, cheat, and steal to make a buck. I agree with "CoCO County Kid" when he says they drill 45 degees to get under outher peoples land(aka horzontal drilling)to get to the good stuff with out any one knowing. The law says they are required to stay within the section(640 acers)(excepting specific details orranged by land owners) but the organization that regulates this is a state agency of north dakota, which the oil comanies have deep in there pockets. But why blame them, look at how much money the state makes off of oil taxes(public record, you can find them). All in all oil activity in ND iss a good thing, just wish state officials were a little straighter and oil companies had to play fair!!!!
You and COCO are stupid!

I am in the same boat. My mother got a call out of the blue about property my deceased father owning the minerals rights southwest of Stanley, ND. Sundance Oil and Gas (Norm Harada) offered $100.00 per acre, 1/6 royalites, and 5 year lease. Is this negotiable? My mother owns the minerals rights on 160 acres of which 3 acres are being considered for this offer. What should our next step be?

You have to be very careful, make sure these companies are even actual drilling companies. Some are just buying up leases to sell. I recommend Stephen's Energy . They will be drilling on my land by the end of the year and are an established oil company, with a certified representative. If the company is buying leases to sell, you will get money now, but if they do not drill than what about you're future. Stay away from any involements with Brue's, they are just taking advantage and are shady. They tried to get a friends teenage daughters to sign papers when she was not home and later tried to intimidate her.
