Seth, Obama was not born in Kenya. His father was from Kenya. I assume that your father, grandfather, great or great great grandfather came from some other country (unless or course, your are a Native American), which you probably are not. Few people, most of whom are from the east side of the pond, would make statements as inane as those that you have posted on this site.

I amaze myself that I have stooped to the level of responding to remarks as stupid as yours.

This makes for some very interesting reading for me. I just thought of looking at this site, by the name of the company soliciting (me)and my family about our lease-land in McKenzie County. We are presently under lease for another 2 years and one question was, would this even be doable. Then would it be a good move.
We are currently leased at $75/A and are offered $500/A to sell. Any thoughts?

For very good information on all things ND Bakken Oil related, the best resource on the web is
http://bakkenshale.blogspot.com/
There are many developments in the area, and numerous active leasing and drilling companies.

The knowledge i seek is our Family has a farm in "WARD" county 200 acres. Do you see that area getting hot soon for drilling? If so when "A Guess" would be appreciated. THank you in advance!

Well Ward county has been hot for 15 years. I doubt that they will drill any Bakken wells over there since, its too shallow in my opinion over there. However, if you are in Ward County in the NW "Hook" you may have a chance but as far as the rest of the county i would say no, however, like i said , people have been drilling shallow wells up there for the last 15 years steady so you have a chance.

How's the hiring going for entry level jobs on a rig? My husband is looking at taking a class (safety/simulated rig) to get into the industry.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Has anyone had any update on the title issues and with HESS elaying payment of oil royalties in the Bakken? I have contacted them on their email per the last letter. That was over two weeks ago and feedback.
I have also heard that Bridgeport Mineral Acquisition is again offering $$ for mineral acres owned.
Any updates from the trenches?

We have mineral rights on two sections in Williams County North Dakota. A company by the name of Altair contacted us to lease at $100 per acre.
We don't know anything about them and are VERY new to this. Any information would be helpful.

Well since i have never heard of them and i take it they didnt say who they were actually working for i would have to assume that they are "flippers". Another words they are investors or a small leasing outfit that will lease you and your neighbors and try and "flip" your leases to another company. A bigger company like Conoco or someone like that to drill on it. More importantly what royalites are they offering? 1/6 bbl....1/8 bbl? The up front money isnt nothing compared to what you will be stuck with once you lease and they hit oil. a lot of people last year were getting 3/16 bbls. An then the other important feature of the lease is how many years is it for? I would take more bbls than money any day because it pays in the long run. Write back and give me what they offered you

Do you think we should pass it altogether and lease to an oil company instead? The property is on the river. Before we realized that we owned mineral rights one section was leased by XTO energy. That lease was up a couple of days ago. We contacted them about one month ago and they said that the lease would be extended and that they would also be interested in the other section. we have not heard anything. I plan to try again this week.

unfortunately, it will be tough to get leased unless its a flipper. but it cannot hurt to try.
