Well Mike, you should have thought about this before you committed a felony. Because pieces of sh*t commit felonies....and no one wants a piece of sh*t manning the register. If you would have dedicated half your energy to obtaining an education, you would not be in this situation and your trailer might even be paid for at this point.
I am a pretty big piece of shit convicted felon:

Five years naval intelligence operative. Top secret SCI leverl clearances. Enduring Freedom. Many medals, ribbons and salutations. Came home to NY on leave after 2 years overseas and got in a one car dwi wreck (my fault, was showing off my car), my friend broke his collarbone and never pressed charges. Got 1 /1/3 to 4 years in prison. Now a 4.0 math major/economics minor, and I can't even get a part time job with because everything is computerized.

By reading my comment, you assumed that i am in law enforcement.......by me reading your comment, i assume that you are a convicted felon. felonies are serious crimes....not just stealing to feed your family (that wouldn't be a felony). if you commit a felony, then you've committed a serious crime and therefore in A LOT OF PEOPLE'S EYES you would be a piece of shit. speaking of pumping iron, i bet you do a lot of that in prison there chief. good luck finding a job.
There are over 25 million non-custodial parents in America who can become a felon if they lose their jobs and cannot pay child support. The judges do not care that they have fallen on hard times and will not work with them. They prefer to put people in jail. They get federal incentive payments to do so. The prisons are becoming profit centers for the states just as children of divorce are. When it comes to divorce, men hardly ever get custody because they are the bread winners and become slaves to the state. Hitler's "State Of The Child" exist right here in America and enforced by law enforcement since they receive VAWA money for every man they can charge with domestic violence. There is a war within Amnerica brewing and people like Stone Cold Steve are not going to survive when "We The People" take our country back.

Don't just think it's a felony conviction. Anyone pulls your history like mine and see's 23 pages, they will never hire you.

I got 2 domestic violence arrests, should I have been arrested; NO!

I got 1 arrest for beating up a old woman over 65. Should I have been arrested; NO!

I'm currently on probation for battery. Did I hit the guy? YES. Did he grab me first; YES.

Arrested for rape, burglary, etc.etc.etc. Should I have been arrested? NO!

Dealing in stolen property; was the property stolen? NO! Was it my stuff; YES!

Grand Theft Auto, did i steal the car? NO!

So as I read from Stone Cold and others, here's the deal. Don't bother complaining when I now am a retired professional criminal and have earned a good living and invested my criminal dollars. I now have a work free legal income.

Now I don't have to steal or commit further crimes. I wanted to run the right path but guess what... All those arrests that I have on my forever record, 3 batteries and beating up a old woman doesn't matter, you were arrested so you must be guilty right... "Normal" people don't have 23-pages of rap-sheet; right?

Well guess what... All of you who tell someone they should have thought ahead.... Or you get what you deserve....

Guess what.... You put me or anyone else in the position of just that and you get exactly that. Your jewelry stolen, car stolen, etc.

Hey Stone Cold... thanks for the Mercedes I parted out and made $17,000 on.

I am a survivor of domestic violence and I was "given" a felony (class C) by a D.A. who told me he did it because "he doesn't understand domestic violence and why victims stay". My abuser committed a double homicide and threatned to kill me if I told on him... I told on him anyway but because the D.A. was convinced I was an accessory to a crime the courts documented I knew nothing about NOR did I participate in the crime... I was STILL convicted of Accessory after the fact. Since that time, I have gone back to school to become a Domestic Violence Advocate for victims/survivors. I have recently found proof that my abuser admitted in a court appeal that he threatned me and I am praying that will be enough to get my conviction overturned.
The advice I have for the rest of us who were wrongly convicted or convicted of a crime far beyond the scope of what is reality... I can offer you this--Don't give up, find a way to help others like us. There are many of us, but if we give up- we will continue to be the "invisible population" that no one wants to deal with. We have to become creative in finding jobs, housing and other things that are denied to us because of what has been written on paper. My motto has become "Black Letters on a White Page Do Not equal a Gray Future". I am a single parent and because of this I KNOW I can't give up... I have bad days where I want to... but I continue to pray. Everything is for a reason... find your reason and help someone who is experiencing what you have lived through. Don't let others judge you and determine your future...Be blessed and keep praying... prayer works!! Cry if you have too but don't give up. Your life means something!! You are not defined by what the judicial system thinks of you (us).

I live in the Houston Texas and have been convicted of a Class B Misdemenor, possesion of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. The state has not only put "POSS OF MARIJ" on my criminal background, it's also on my driving record, even though I was walking down the street ( Yes I got "pulled over" for walking down the street at 3 P.M. going the gas station at the end of my block, citing I looked suspicious). It is mandatory in TX, or atleast Harris County, to suspend your licence upon conviction. So now, I got fired, can't drive, and can't even work at a Wal-Mart even though I can pass drug screens all day.
I am guitly and have come to the resolution that I might even of desevered to get arrested for the 1 single jiont I had in my cigarette box while minding my own walking to get bread and milk for dinner.
My only beef is when I find out that a drunk driver can find a job (Which is the exact same criminal charge here, Class B Mis.) no problem. Employers will "look the other way" for these potential manslaughters.
Get busted walking down the road with a jiont in no harm to anyone (Any they say there is not victimless crime? Am I the vitctim here then? LOL) I am reduced to day labor like I am an illegal immegrant. I can't even drive! DUI, sure he gets to keep his job, licence, dignity, self respect...etc. POTENTIAL KILLERS!!! Peace loving potheads...?
Anyway, if you can't find a job, don't fool yourselves, there is always work, IF you are willing to do it. You might want to dig ditches for 8 bucks an hour, but hey, its better than sitting around doing nothing but thinking about going back to crime.
Chin up, brave the world and get to shovelin'! The only wayto find a better job is to have a shitty one first!

okay i only say this from experiance has any of yall tried fast food or is that just not good enough for yall i mean if you got kids to provide for you still can get food stamps and medical for the kids and in some states you can actually get it for yourself let your ego go and do what you need to do to support yourself and family i know i do and i have 2 felonies and i survive and people still give me a chance even with that felony

I have a comment for MIKECHARLOTTE. i was convicted of 4 felonies and serving a term of 6 mos. of intensive probation and 2.5 probation. I don't remember these acts under self medication(drs. supervision&stroke) but did take responsibility. I was a dental hygienist for 16 yrs. My life is hopeless having attempting suicide(a selfish act)but feeling what I am going through is worse than hell.I have 2 boys(3&5) whom I take care of very well and a husband whom wants to leave me. Of course a judge is not going to give custody to a felon mom without and cannot get a job. So I know how it feels to hit rock bottom. To whom ever criticizes a felon I wish they knew how it feels because I had everything and lost it all in one mistake(ie.license-career,fami ly, and all self esteem. THINK ABOUT THAT!!!!!!

I am a 28 year old convicted felon. It was for ordering illegal anabolic steroids online when i was 20 years old. Since then i have graduated with a BS in Accounting and a BS in Business Management. I graduated Cum Laude (3.6 gpa) and I am a member of a the National Collegiate of Scholars. Ive also done countless hours of community service. I was always a hard working, good honest person and i made a big mistake 8 years ago. You cant isolate everybody into one category Mr. Stone Cold. I have been turned down over and over again for jobs because of background checks and its simply not fair.

Ok, I have read the comments good and bad. First for the people that do not have a record. You do not understand and that is ok. My comments will be for you as well.
Now, for my brothers and sisters that are ex felons. We are part of an elite group that can and will over come anything. Think about it, you are still standing and life has knocked you down.
Your desire will move you ahead of your record of being a ex felon.Your life and your family depends on you desire to overcome anything. Listen, you can over come anythng when you have a plan. The fact that I am writing these words it is not an accident. I do not know how I stumbled across this page. But there is Power in My Words and it will Free you from your record of an ex felon. No, I am not a Preacher. I will not tell you just to pray and it will be ok. I will tell you to pray and then follow through with the plan that Freed me. I will tell you the plan after I see that you are listening.
I do not want weak people that will give up because of what they said or what they did. It is over, Now let's go and put your Game Face On. Take no prisoners leave the past and your record behind. Make money legally and take care of you families. Please reply by saying " I am ready to Run with Pure Desire".

What as butthole you are. You might find yourself in a situation to have a wrap sheet some day, even for having an accident. I have never commited a felony, but some people who have are not always a piece of s**t. They just got caught!

I don't know about that. I know several people at our hospital who have armed robbery raps and one of those employees sister who was with the armed robbery carries the mail. Reason being their mother is a RN and did a lot of pr work to help get them support from members in law enfrocement and a good attorney to help take some of the stuff off their record by a sentence reduction.

I assume you are around people with small town attitudes. You might want to go to another area and start all over. You must had a social worker or a parole officer or someone who you could go back and discuss this with and then use the advice they give to you. I know several people in the mental health field who are making good money now, but in their past they got busted for drugs and stealing and all kinds of stuff that was felonious. And I know people in social services that have felonies. Think back to what caused your problems and face that situation truthfully, then set up a plan not to go backward or into another bad situation. What about a rent to own store? Or a credit collections manager. Tough ain't always bad in some jobs.

Death is near for me wrote:
I was convicted of FELONY B&E (AID&ABET)in 1999. My attorney yelled at me 30 mins. before trial. Mind you that I kept telling him all that happened was that I received gifts from a boy who liked me. Ineighbor who was also the detective asked me what happened I told him the truth, I did not know, but I told him about the gifts. Instead of telling me my friends background he writes out 8 pages of charges! I was locked up and giving a court appt. attorney who forgot about me. He forgot I was even in jail for 81 days! I asked for a new attorney and was denied unless I could afford my own. When I did get out I never heard from him or received any papers until my day in court. That's when he told me to take the plea bargain. He failed to gather the evidence that proved I was not guilty. I was working, going to school, and recovering from my surgery. My attorney told me that I would go to prison for one thing or another and I had no chance and that he was my wrong? I have been trying to overcome my conviction, but I am finding it hard to continue. Gov. Easley denied me with a letter that only said: "This is to inform you that your request for a Pardon had been denied. If you wish to reapply, you may do so three years from the date of this letter, Sincerely, Barry J. Jenkins, Governor's Clemency Administrator". No explanation. I want to die now. I lost my life in 1999 and was stupid to think I could continue with my goals. I am a hermit, I am afaid to trust anyone for fear of getting in trouble again. I thought I was a good person, but the State of North Carolina does not think so. By the way, I did apple to work in District Court and was not hired. I can work for free, just not for money. All I want is to work for the courts or at a good lawfirm and support my son who is disabled. After I was told that I can't get housing because of a felony, I now understand that death is better. There are no second chances. I even told Gov. Easley about the attorney, that did not matter. I am 28 now and I live with this pain everyday. I just wanted to let people know, even Steve, don't judge a person only by what a piece of paper says, judge by what you know and see of that person. Some people do not believe that I am a convicted felon because they really know me. I hope things get better for the rest of you. I am giving up!
I can understand the betrayal that you feel. Keep on applying for clemency and keep on working at trying to do paralegal work. You have to keep on at something even if it's just doing EBay. As time goes on things get put more into perspective by everyone. Talk to the detective and most of all have that detective investigated to see "what" he's done that might make him no so credible. Check out the other people on your case, too, such as the DA and the ones that gathered the evidence. Bust them down if they have anything at all in their record. Possibly they traded you off as a pawn to keep one of their own kids out of jail or a friend. I know the system and I know cops. Check out the attorney that you had. Contact him over and over until he talks to you and request that he help you now if nothing more than a job. Speak to ministers, they are a soft touch for getting to reform someone even if you don't really need reform, they'll take the credit.
