Conclusion: False/Unsubstantiated

We have conducted multiple Google searches, but have been unable to find the original source reporting this, although we found many many posts referencing the Berg complaint itself.

We did find this entry at NoQuarter: Why Is Maya Soetoro's Name on Barack's Phony Certificate of Live Birth?(and a few other entries such as this), which reference a report on TexasDarlin's blog. However, TexasDarlin, noted some issues with TechDude's work (cached here):

"All information that we have received from Techdude has been published. We have not seen the rest of his evidence. At present, he is unavailable. Should he not respond promptly, we will remove his statements and findings. In the future, if we receive all of the documentation he promised and are able to prove that it's credible, we will restore his reports."

She subsequently pulled all of Techdude's work off her website. We have not located any blog which continues to espouse this theory, although, as noted above, we've found multiple postings refering to Berg's complaint and/or the retracted original report on TexasDarlin.

However, FactChecker.org says it obtained Obama's actual birth certificate and that the document was indeed real. The site discredited some of the claims of Internet bloggers, such as that the certificate as viewed in a scanned copy released by Obama's campaign lacked a raised seal. FactChecker.org also established that many of the alleged flaws in the document noted by bloggers were caused by the scanning of the document.

A separate WND investigation into Obama's birth certificate utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic. The investigation also revealed methods used by some of the bloggers to determine the document was fake involved forgeries, in that a few bloggers added text and images to the certificate scan that weren't originally there.

Therefore, the “connection” between Obama and Factcheck.org is as follows:

In the 1990s, Obama served on the board of an organization that received funding from a foundation, which

(a) was established and funded by a couple, the surviving member of whom has expressly, publicly, endorsed McCain; and

(b) now provides 100s of millions of dollars of grants to a wide variety of public interest organizations, including the organization (APPC) that runs Fact.check.org .

Therefore, Berg's attempts to discredit Factcheck.org by asserting that it is owned by the Chicago Annenberg Challenge are demonstrably inaccurate.

Ron McRae, outspoken anti-abortion advocate, identifies himself as the “bishop of the Anabaptists Churches of North America”. The transcript above is same as the sworn affidavit by him in Berg v. Obama. Given the penalties for making a sworn false statement, I will give McRae the benefit of the doubt. However in the end the tape simply does not say that Barack Obama II was born in Kenya, but in fact the tape says a lot more as we will see in a moment.

The audio tape sounds to me like it was designed to trap Sarah Obama into saying that her grandson was born in Kenya. The rest was padding; the only thing of substance was this birth question. Whether the interviewer intentionally interjected the confusion when he said:” am praying for your son, for your grandson” or did said it by accident, he misled Sarah. The rest of the “i was with him in the delivery room in Mombasa” stuff you see on the Internet is not in the transcript at all.(Third hand accounts of the tape have grown in the telling.)

A reader and listener with critical thinking could have listened to the Grandmother tape or read the transcript and seen that the tape doesn’t way what it is represented to say. I congratulate someone who got that far. But that is not how far it goes. The YouTube tape and the Berg v. Obama affidavit ends premature; the audio recording itself has much more on it, and here is the real “smoking gun”. The full tape contains a clarification where Sarah Obama makes it clear that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, in America. The full version is available here, and the clarification starts around 5 minutes into the tape. At some point, the tape was edited to remove the clear statement from Sarah Obama that her grandson was born in Hawaii.

Barack Obama isn't eligible to become president because he allegedly was born outside the United States, a Hawaiian official has confirmed she has "personally seen and verified" that the state "has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate" - meaning Obama was born in the Aloha state, and is therefore an American citizen.

"There have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama's official birth certificate. State law (Hawai'i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record," reads an Oct. 31 statement from Hawaii's Dr. Chiyome Fukino, who heads the Hawaii office that oversees health records -- including birth certificates.

"Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai'i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai'i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures," Fukino said in the three paragraph statement.

"No state official, including Governor Linda Lingle, has ever instructed that this vital record be handled in a manner different from any other vital record in the possession of the State of Hawai'i," the statement concludes.

Does this mean Obama was born in Hawaii?

"Yes," said Hawaii Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo, in both email and telephone interviews with the Tribune. "That's what Dr. Fukino is saying."
