NC sued over its adoption laws
A civil liberties group sued North Carolina on Wednesday to change state adoption laws that they argue unconstitutionally prevent unmarried couples from adopting their partners' children.

Um, no offense, but maybe if you are going to be evaluated as to whether or not you're going to be committed enough to raise a child, you should be evaluated as to whether or not you're going to be committed enough to even be in a long-term relationship (aka "marriage").
Sorry, but no offense, but kids need a stable environment in which to be raised.
