our family has owned mineral rights in the dawson county area for years. we have been offered a measly 1$ an acre lease for the 60k acres owned. my family should wait for more offers but my uncle may just take it! what info can you offer me to get him not take this offer!

Did you ever get this resolved? Did they ever pay you? Did you get out of that lease and lease with anyone else?

Hello Mark ~ to answer your question ~ SDC sent a very small check in June and not even for the original sections they said they wanted to lease. They continued to promise and promise that they were going to get another lease together for the other 5 sections. However ~ just a bunch of lip service. We did receive a lease from Campbell Development. That was signed mid October, still waiting on payment from them. They are offering more money per acre than SDC so after all the run around from SDC I am really glad someone else picked up the remaining sections.

Not familiar with this forum but joined the Mineral Rights Forum as I have interest in Burke County, ND. I also have mineral rights in Blaine County, MT and haven't a clue about activity there and if as hot as Burke Cnty, ND presently.

First of all, Arrowcrest is the name of the neighborhood that Chris Dedmon lived in at the time he and his wife scammed greater than $650,000 dollars from stock brockers(google Chris and Kim Dedmon, yes its public record 2005). Chris took the name Arro crest and has used it to name his oil connection. Believe me, not a person here wants HIM endorsing our beautiful neighborhood.
Be careful, do your homework, he is a good talker, I feel for the town of plentiwood, that must be the only place he can find "work" as the rest of his family is still here in Arizona. He is a "used car sellsman", and as far as Im concerned a leopard can't change the color of their spots...

I am currently helping my aunt with an oil lease on her land in Choteau county. She was offered $60 per acre signing bonus and 16% of profits. I personally have land in Oklahoma that I am signing a lease on and am recieving $325 per acre signing bonus and 18.75% of profits. I have advised her to seek the advice of an attorney in Montana that deals with oil leases. I used an major law firm in Oklahoma and they helped me get a good offer. They are also one of the top oil and gas law firms in the country. The national average is 18.75% of profit.

i have meet chris a couple times around town and have talked with alot of neighbors about what has gone on with the promises he made. at first people were scepticle then angry. nobody was seeing results. from what i understand now, he has gotten all his backers together and is making good on his promises. he has had alot of making up to do considering all the hard feelings but to his credit, he didnt just bail! we have rights to lease and intend to at least speak with him.

I did work for Chris Desmon to secure leases he needed and we made an agreement on what I'd be paid. He agreed to pay me $40 per mineral acre on the leases I got. Now that he has them, and was paid by Southwestern Energy for them, he is not keeping his word to me although he said when I tried to get it on paper that "he is a man of his word and his word is good, ill get your contract to you, I'm just busy right now." Well he is always busy and he is not true to his word. I have had to hire a lawyer and I'm now suing him. Yes, he made me an offer to settle,$10,000 on a $200,000 deal we had. Also, finding out all the horrible things he has spread around town about me. For what purpose?? Oh right, I wasn't interested in him sexually. Plus the fact that he was married, some women don't care about that. SDC Montana is getting sued by me, as is Chris Dedmon. If he makes you a deal- get the money first. That's the only way to know if you'll get paid. As far as acting like children? That's why I got out of that place 4 months after it all started. I don't work for liars and that's all that man is. And yes, in the beggining he lied to everyone- but he has now found money and people are getting paid, except for me. Gotta love a good lawsuit. Oh, and keep in mind he bought furniture from me totaling an agreement of $25,000- took over a year to pay me and if I wanted his final payment 7G short of what he owed, he'd pay me, otherwise I'd just have to sue him. He is a very dishonest man. I would never do business with him, there are MANY other leasing companies that will tell you truthfully about your mineral rights and pay you fairly. You do NOT need to lease with SDC. Look up his ARIZONA record and the bankruptcies he has filed for. DISHONEST GREEDY MAN. I was also an investor that never got the information that was in his operating agreement, so not knowing what deals or how much profit was done, sold my point back to him. Shame on you Chris. See you in court.

I will state again, do not deal with companys that are suspect and deceitful!! There are companys out there that are held to federal requirements. Do your research please, I am one of you!!

It will be difficult convincing any judge or jury that you weren't interested in him sexually when he produces the myriad lurid text messages you have sent him. That statement alone is indicative of the unlikely veracity of your claims. If people are so inclined, they should instead be looking into YOUR criminal record as well as your numerous current civil suits in Montana. I know nothing about your employment history with SDC but it is apparent that your relationship with Chris and his company didn't work out quite as you planned. I suspect the truth is nowhere near your venomous version of the story.

I offer my best wishes to your next victim as you continue to excel in your litigious and parasitic lifestyle.
