We know the War of Northern Aggression is over, and we know that we lost. We are not the ones that keep fighting it. People from up north coming down here and telling us how best to mind our own business is what keeps fueling the fire. If you don't like Mississippi or the South in general, then go up north, back east, or out west. It is that simple.

Well I think Mississippi is a beautiful state. Some people need to realize prejudice and obesity is found in all states; not just Mississippi. And who are you to judge anyone because they drive pick ups? I actually drive a BMW, but I'd choose a pick up over that any day. The south has the most down to earth, family oriented people you'll ever meet. White or black, we're all friends in the south. I think most Southerners will agree when I say if you don't like it here, Leave! You're only putting down on the south because you're unhappy with yourself...

Oh and one more thing. No one hates Mexicans! The reason most southerners are upset is because there are people coming into our country stirring up trouble by not getting their citizenship. And yes we are the ones who are suffering because illegals are committing crimes and not being punished the way any one of us Americans would be. It has nothing to do with being Mexican. That goes to any illegal. Some people need to get their facts straight before they start in on Mississippians again.

Just think about this if you move to any other state do you honestly think that every one there says their state is the best because its a northern state? no. I was raised in MS for most of my life I moved up to Maryland It wasnt that great Ive been to NY hated it Been to Wisconsin hated it Been to Ohio Hated it But every one in each of those states say the same thing they hate it. The real reason people say the south is behind is because the northern states said was for so long and now we beleive it truth is we are not behind at all every were Ive been they are on the same page as us. They are struggling with money troubles to.

Mississippi is the best state to live and raise a family. When a southern goes up north there are some of the most snobbish selfish people you could meet. In Mississippi, at least, we are there for our neighbors and friends in Christian support and love. We speak to strangers just to be nice where northerns would cut off their right arm to avoid saying hello much less help someone in distress. Mississippi is beautiful with the oak,pine,cedar and don't forget our wonderful magnolia trees, lakes, parks, rolling hills, delta, and the great gulf coast. What more do you want in a state? The people here are true to their character and hold still the valves and morals that their great,great,great grandparents instilled in them. We are always classified as rednecks or hillbillies that pick our teeth with toothpicks, have no running water, with no education. I will have you know that Mississippi has some of the finest colleges in the US. According to the reports they say that we are on the bottom, I believe changing when change is neccessay but you heard the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it-Mississipians are the heart of the US. We may not agree with your opinions but if are in need of a helping hand you can always count on Mississippians to do what they can. As far, as the racial thing, I am a very proud Mississippian, I was raised to treat my fellow man as I want to be treated. Things that happened in the 1950's were well before my time I am sorry that so many people were hurt. On that note, a couple yrs ago people wanted to change our state flag... I don't agree with that. It is a part of all Mississipians history to remind us to treat each other with respect and not to repeat our parents and grandparents mistakes. Also not to hold this generation or future generations accountable for what older generations might have done and to start fresh with equal respect. Mississippi is great with love and history. If you don't like it here or you feel the need to bash it or it's native people, then we say get the H**L OUT!!!

With Mississippi's extensive black population, especially from I-20 North to Memphis and I-55 West to the Mississippi, and the greater Jackson area, it's no wonder we're in the economic condition we're in. Something that I've noticed is yankees will live hear 20 years and bitch every day about Mississippi. Don't they realize that the same HWY that brought them hear will lead them out? I've lived other places and didn't like it, but I didn't stand around and bitch and gripe (Momma taught me better); I just smiled politely and came home. But then again what do I know; I'm just a dumb ass redneck. Right?

Mississippi is a great place. I love visiting Mississippi and I hope to retire there. While I was borned and raised in Georgia. My father, grandparents and several other generations were residents of Mississippi. Yankees are the most perverse blight on Southern ground that has ever existed on earth. Atlanta sucks because of the yankees. Ninty nine percent of them do not mind their own business. They have taken most jobs and tossed a few jobs to the affirmative action folks. Mississippi needs to institute a $100,000 fee on all existing yankees and yankees entering Mississippi to be distributed amoung Southerners who have not drank the yankee cool-aide. Redneck a badge of honor.
