although if you go to the center of Florida a good town like Arcadia, there is still a drawl as thick as anywhere in Alabama. but it is disappearing fast. same in Georgia.

How sad is it that (1) you can't spell correctly; (2) your grammar leaves much to be desired; (3) you waste time posting useless ramblings; (4) you actually sat with Jason Whitfield aka the biggest racist on the coast; (5) you are so concerned with the rebel flag; (6) you are from Nebraska and minding the business of MS; (7) you actually want the flag to be a "brothers fist"....could you be any more racist? I bet your family is proud. Stay in Nebraska....we have enough racist here to last us a lifetime.

I dont even want to respond to this comment because first of all if you are not from Mississippi, dont live in Mississippi or have any buisness with Mississippi then shut your f*#%ing mouth. Not everyone from Mississippi is ignorant. Here are some things people should know...
1. We are not all ignorant
2. We are not all inbred
3. We dont all live in the woods with our dog and a spitoon on the fornt porch playing th banjo saying yep yep mighty fine day out here.
4. We were not the only state that owned slaves and getting rid of our flag does not apologize for slavery. So all the other states that have said oh we will do this to show how we are so apologetic for slavery are a bunch of bitches. That was the past not the present get over it.
5. Calling everyone in Mississippi a redneck is just as racist as calling every African American the *N* word or every asian person a chinc or every mexican a spic they are all degrating and if you dont know anything more than how to say the word then shut the fuck up.
6. If it werent for Mississippi then who would build the 50%+ ships that we built for the navy. Who would supply the most soldiers for the armed forces of the USA.
7. I bet you would come to Mississippi in person and stand in front of us and say what you said on the computer because then you couldnt be the pansy little bitch that you are sitting behind that computer screen.
8. We have provided some of the greatest atheletes that any sport in the world has seen.
9. We have only 2 Major Universities in this state but I would bet my life that they are better than 75 %of the other instituions in the US.
If you dont know me dont judge me. I love Mississippi. I love everything about Mississippi. Fuck Al Sharpton He is one of the biggest racists I have ever heard open his mouth. Im proud to say that I love my state, proud to say that I treat everyone that I meet as family, I am proud to say that if you came here I would probably treat you the same becasue that is how Mississippians are. So you can down us as much as you would like but your words have no validity and you sir/mam are more ignorant than any Mississippian that i have ever met.

There are three flags flying in my yard, PROPERLY flown I might add. If you don't know what I mean by properly, stop reading here. Number one is the Stars an Stripes, number two is the flag of the Great State of Mississippi, and the third is the Confederate Battle Flag. The Mississippi State Flag represents who we are and where we came from. We are proud of that. Period. Thats what you yankees and bleeding hearts refuse to accept.
The Confederate Battle Flag is just that, a BATTLE FLAG. It is flying in honor of our Southern brothers and sisters fighting in the defense of our beloved country which includes our beloved SOUTH. State lines were originally drawn for a reason: So people with differing ideas and opinions could live in harmony with thier own kind. If you don't like what goes on in our state, then for the Love of God, stay on your side of the STATE LINE and mind your own damn business.

I can't believe how stupid some "Blacks" are. I am from MN (that is Minnesota for thoes of you who are stupid). Grammar mistakes happen, but from what I have read, so does STUPID. For thoes of you Blacks who have a problem with Whites, my family fought and died for you, and what thanks do we get. You forget that half the nation stuck up for you and we have seen nothing but "poor me", and "It's because im black" ever since.

Mississippi is a great place. I love visiting Mississippi and I hope to retire there. While I was borned and raised in Georgia. My father, grandparents and several other generations were residents of Mississippi. Yankees are the most perverse blight on Southern ground that has ever existed on earth. Atlanta sucks because of the yankees. Ninty nine percent of them do not mind their own business. They have taken most jobs and tossed a few jobs to the affirmative action folks. Mississippi needs to institute a $100,000 fee on all existing yankees and yankees entering Mississippi to be distributed amoung Southerners who have not drank the yankee cool-aide. Redneck a badge of honor. I posted this on another forum but it also fits here. In addition My real Georgia flag has been all over Georgia during the flag fight. It has also been to South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. I support the Mississippi flag. I support a free Mississippi and a free South. Free of yankees and black racist and their appolgist. My family is from Kemper, Lauderdale, Newton and Neshoba counties. None of them owned slaves before during or after the War. But Sherman burnt them out anyway. He poisoned the wells and the ground. He stole all their livestock and anything of value. Then the carpetbaggers and scalawags took what was left. It was 80 years before my family owned land again and attended college. The busybodies in Mississippi, Georgia and all the South are not leaving us much room to breath. When you prode a dog and back him in a corner you end up getting bit. How long do you yankees and blacks think you can prode and corner Southerners before you get bit?

The flag of Mississippi, never flew over slavery, But the American Flag has, it flew over slavery from the day the states beat the British, Ironic they were fighting the crown to keep from being slaves to the king, but they owned slaves...
The Flag of Dixie is not a racist Flag .. Read the part of history that the gov't education will deny you. If the south is so racist, why do we have more blacks than the north?? Just saying I don't see a stampede of blacks going north, and yet we are a primarily republican states???
why did old Abe not set all slaves free?? why did he have to declare 3 separate proclamations?? were not all slaves just as human as the others??
I think if you will really look into the subject you will find that what you have been taught by the gov't ,is not the whole truth, and half a truth is as a lie.... I love my state, flag and all, and I am from slaves...and freemen

and I might add that without the full history, blacks can not validate a history..
so it will make black history month invalid.. IMO
If you are not told the full story about Christ, only told he lived.. what do you get from that?
Only that a man lived and his name was Jesus.
But with the whole story, he was the son of God,and he died for our sins, you get a better understanding.
By the way do you know old Abe violated the Constitution by going to war with the south??
The constitution gives each state the right to secede if they chose to, even today they have that right.....
Old Abe would not let the slaves who made it to the north fight with weapons, he was afraid they would kill the Union troops. But in the south we had infantry troops who were all black,no whites. And they fought for the south because they wanted to, remember, they could have deserted if they wanted to......

Mr. Kenny you don't have a CLUE. Your grammar and spelling is terrible. Maybe you should invest some of your anger in another direction like going back to school and learning how to compose a proper comment. I am proud of my Confederate heritage and I would not expect you to "get it". I see nothing wrong with celebrating this part of my ancestry just as many black people celebrate theirs. You are better off in Nebraska we don't need agitators like yourself around here.....Darlin'

President Lincoln, althought not in favor of the slavery, respected it where it still existed but had to put his foot down and say no more spreading of this to future territories as the country expanded. But thatnks to all those loud mouth, ignorant fire breathers down south, they started plenty of crazy rumors and thus provoked a war, which never should have happened at all. Now we have a lasting reminder of an old institution where slavery existed and was even written into the confererate constituion. What an insult to all those decendants of slavery to have a reminder of this flying over their heads in Mississippi. This is also holding back this state from much needed support, as black coalitions never support a state flying the St. Anderw's cross on the canton of their flag.
It's time to do the right thing and keep the confederate flag in a museum and join the rest of the civilized world in moving on with a more progressive and cherishable flag in our states all united in freedom.

And I knew somehow religion would tied in to this. God created all men and women equally, right? Now start your irrational tyrad to this response......

You've got to be the biggest idiot in the world. I was born in Mississippi. I grew up in that 'great' place. I moved to Tennessee, and it wasn't until then that I realized how stuck in the past Mississippi is. People say its about 'heritage'. Well if they really appreciate their heritage they'll go out and try to own another human being. You can't pick and choose what part of the Mississippian heritage you appreciate. It's time that that state grows up and joins the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Being a sore loser doesn't make you a better person. Guarantee you don't like Obama either. Weather you want to believe it or not, its cause you're racist. I know all about Mississippi culture. Given, there are some great things that came from Mississippi that you can be proud of. Most notably, MUSIC. Muddy Waters, Elvis, and a load of great rock bands. Food is also a great thing from Mississippi. But stop trying to down the other 49 states just cause you don't like being wrong. Grow up and get with the rest of the country. Sorry, the rest of the WORLD.

Good day to you.

Oh. And MSU and Ole Miss are great schools no doubt. But do you really think they're better than UMASS, Harvord, Yale, USOCAL, Berkely, Juliard, Berklee College of Music, Belmont, or Princton?

Mississippi, or the deep south for that matter, has education that is subpar. Why do you think all the Ivy League schools are in the north east? I can't wait to move to Boston because then I won't have to deal with problems that Mississippi leads the country in: Poverty, Overweight, Conservatism, Unequal rights for EVERYONE regardless of Race, Sex, Disability, Ethnicity, National Origin, and Sexual Orientation <(I'm married to my wife and I still believe people can marry who they love, not who the state says they have to love).
