Republicans are for less tax for the rich when it is really the middle class and the poor who need the money. This is really saying they believe in 'Class distinction". The next step in this kind of thinking is the Haves are really superior to the have-nots. Well then would the World be a better place if there were more Haves. After all then you could talk about money in all od it's forms. In fact we really do not need those Have-nots around due to the extra energy we need to feel sorry or perhaps pity for them and all their poverty and filthy children. Why not have a Holy War, under God of course, to wipe out these less fortunate non-people.

If you are able to step back and look at how this kind of Republican thinking is Evolving, yes I did use the terrible word evolving, you might be able to think of some very powerful figures in the last 60 or so years went along with all this and more. Two jump into my mind right away and they are Hitler and Stalin. Between the two of them they were able, with joy and totally convinced (something like the far-right religious orders) that were simply doing what God wants. The Crusades and the Moslem hate-missions thought to be good, just, and fully within the rights of the Haves, show what blind non-thinking can do.

There are two issues with that. First, the "rich" pay almost all of the income tax collected while the bottom 50% pay damn near nothing.

Second, the money of the rich belongs to the rich, not to the poor. Government stealing from the rich and giving that money to the poor is no different than a thug who robs a liquor store.

There always has been and always will be economic diversity. In this country, everyone has opportunity to climb the economic ladder and most do.

Indeed it would be, and our free market system and limited form of government has driven America to be the most prosperous nation the world has ever known. It has achieved a world with more "haves".

Hitler and Stalin were both heads of socialist states where there was supposed to be economic equality. In practice we saw most everyone living a very low standard of living while an elite few lived extremely wealthy.

If you desire to live under a socialist state, you have the option of moving to China or North Korea. Why don't you go live there for 5 years and then decide whether you like America better?
