Bullock is elected, therefore he can not be fired by the council....he would have to be impeached....I have known him for a long time and thought better of him.....sad that this has happened....no excuse for that type of behavior....

Someone has judged my earlier post as Spam, Nuts, and Disagree.

It is not spam! You apparently do not know the definition of spam as it pertains to the internet.

How is it nuts and why do you disagree.

If a police officer assaulted you, for no reason, wouldn't you want them to stand trial just as if someone else did.

If Police Officers have legal permission to beat people, we are living in a Police State! And that is no good for anyone!

I do not know Officer Bullock at all, I wouldn't know him if I saw him, but maybe I should get to know how to recognize him. He sounds like a dangerous fellow, with a bad case of "Cop Mentality".

Well, apparently it does matter, or it wouldn't be news.

If he broke the law then he should not be in law enforcement. The people of Missouri said that he broke the law. There should be a very high standard for our law enforcement. They are to protect us not hurt us. They are not the judge and jury.

Nobody deserves a beating for general purposes. If the victim did nothing to deserve the beating it is wrong. Period. This is regardless of what their station in life is. As someone posted above, no one deserves an unwarranted beating.

I agree with you, but technically, Mr. Bullock has not stood trial for this, but there seems to be enough to at least check into the possibility of a prosecution.

The trial mentioned above is a civil trial, not criminal, that is why only monetary damages (That the two officers themselves won't have to pay) were awarded. It would take another full trial in criminal court to punish the two officers.

it's too bad. i like jarrett. he's been good to me in the past. one never knows unless they're there. i too wonder if the man was beaten so severely why the judgment wasn't higher, and why the officers are still employed. i know jarrett is elected. i also know his predecessor. i'd vote for jarrett again in a heartbeat. our county assessor didn't beat anybody, but she settled out of court when she was sued, and she was not re-elected. cost the taxpayers more than $35k, too. what a world.

and, tape recorders and cameras are not allowed in federal courts. that's why the reporting was somewhat shoddy.

That may be but unless a judge seals the record, all court proceedings are a matter of public record. Since this has been reported on and names given there is no privacy issues--no reason to seal the record.

doesn't matter. no cameras nor recorders in federal courts. period. so, we must rely on great note taking, which never is as good as recording the proceedings as they occur.

There are two problems with this. One, the Sheriff's Department should have informed people of this before we elected this guy. Two, now the sheriff and the deputy are elected officials and crime is out of control.

if the two officers were deputies, the matter should have been investigated by the next higher authority, which is the state. evidently this was appealed to the federal level. so i think the proper channels acted appropriately. should the sheriff have placed the deputies on suspension while the investigation was conducted? probably. but since when has the sheriff been that open with his public records?

Just as I said in my other post....Bullock did right - he should have stomped a mud hole in his ass! Ya'll think you are so smart....but just think....Now the courts will award a METH FREAK $35K - OH BOY - Ya'll are right - justice has surely been served. Bullock should have put his boot in his ass. He needs to do more drug heads like that - then maybe the pieces of shit that sell/take it will move on down the road.

Brush those haters off Bullock - you've got plenty of people in this town who Do support and appreciate you! Keep on putting your foot in their asses!!!

A but wippin doesn't last forever, the crackhead had it coming to him. It is a small price to pay for all the innocent children that are affected by meth.
I have known Bullock for a long time, he did the right thing.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Scorpio

Be careful how you handle a certain someone today because their mood is little short of incendiary. They'll jump down your throat if you dare to disagree with them, and then accuse you of being a wimp if you decide that it would be better to agree with everything they say. You can't win! If they really get on your wick, you'll have to give them a piece of your mind, even if it is supposed to be the season of goodwill to all men. Huh!
