This has is such a bogus statement if they include Casino Aztar! The survey was given to us a few years ago and they really pressured us into filling it out. They made us feel like that "we had to fill it out", it was almost like it was madatory. I don't know of many people out here that thinks that our wages or any of the benefits are to our satisfaction. The big thing that is going on our here and always has is that they will work you to death 3 or 4 days but may send you home early another day or give you an extra day off to keep you from getting any overtime. They really make it hard on us to get ahead financially. So as far as i'm concerned they can't be including Casino Aztar.

My husband works at the casino and he actually loves it. But I see a lot of people complaining about their jobs around here - is that just the thing to do?

We just moved from an area where there were NO jobs at all, so maybe we see it from a different perspective.

they pay crap for those jobs. the only people that make a decent salary per hour are the dealers and theirs are tips. do they still count 32 hours as full time? that's a crock.

I guess it's like the say "The grass is always greener on the other side." My husband works a full 40 hours a week at the casino, makes decent money and is actually happy to have a job. With unemployment in the U.S. as high as it is, he's thrilled to be employed.

The benefits there are also better than anything I've seen and he and I both have experience working for a variety of companies, both large and small, some in larger cities.

Believe me, it's not as bad as you think.

what dept does he work in? I worked there for almost 5 years and the grass did get greener when I left. It got a lot greener. they used to have good insurance. I will give them that. Except the time they switched carriers. I got stuck with $2000 worth of hospital bills that the old carrier skipped out on.

Casino Aztar sucks they had to have been talking about another casino. The pay sucks and they will terminate your job title and then let you go at the drop of a hat.

Come on people lets speak honestly here about the casino that is in Caruthersville. The place is nasty, its resturant is nasty, the sportsbar is nasty, and the people in the executive office is nasty. The insurance sucks, they treat the crewmembers like welfare receipients. They do not care about the patrons they are just happy to be able to wear the "big shoes". If anyone would like to know who i'm talking about then just let me know and i'll be happy to tell the names. If the casino isn't gone within 5 yrs i'll be very surprised. The place has already lost some of their biggest spenders. The place is a total joke. Casino Aztar can sink to the bottom of the river as far as i'm concerned. Of course i hope no one is on it when it does......or do i, lol!!!!!

The casino let go some good people today. Some of these employee's have been there since day one. The management does not care if your a good employee or not. I hope the damn thing does sink along with the so call management they do have. And for the genaral manager you need to learn another f--k-ng line besides (the direction we are looking for) thats all you say. The direction you need to look for is taking your sorry a** back to Clarkton where you belong before someone beats the boots off your a++.

This is a little something for all of the players to Know, Did you Know that Casino Aztar has the worst pay off percentage in slots in the nation. The machines are real tight ,so if you want to give your money away go there. Also when you start winning in craps they will change the dice on you, they do it real slick so you don't see it. For every $100 you put in a slot machine you will be lucky if it pays out $7.

Wow, looks like everyone who got fired decided to all come to Topix at the same time. Might want to look at the want ads in the Democrat-Argus before you flame.

It's a casino; it's a business. It's there to make money. It got bought by that "Parrot" company six months ago and everyone who worked there knew that this was coming. They're just pissed because it happened to them instead of some other person in their department.

Yea, it sucks that they're gone, and most will be missed, but there's still 400+ people (Well, more like 390 now) on the payroll. Hate to pee in your cereal, but life isn't fair sometimes. Wear a helmet.

Since the Casino has been there they have had several layoffs and the number went from 400 to about 200 employees, thats about half the staff. I hope in the next layoff its your job.

Wow! You mean people are starting to figure out that "the grass is not as green on the other side" as one of the previous posters would call it. People believe us when we say this, Casino Aztar is very crooked. Changing of the dice is just one of the tricks of keeping the house winning. As for you slot players please take the time next time your at Aztar to stop by the cashier cage on the barge and look at the Missouri state minimum payout percentage. I believe its like 85% or close to that. For ya'll that don't know state casinos are required for their slots to pay out a certain percentage, that means as long as they have at least one slot machine that pays out at least the state minimum then they are in compliance. Think about it, 4,000 machines and only one pays out. The management thanks you people for coming and dropping off your hard earned money. If you 'd like to take it a step further, you earn 1 point for every 5 bucks you spend. So if you wanna go to a casino that will offer you more head to Tunica, they will at least give you a free room and meal that is actually good when you lose your money. So all i can say is thanks for coming to Casino Aztar and next time you stop in ask for your complimentary lubricant at the door because it will be the worst fucking you've ever had without it.

Well said, but the ones at the top are going to be the ones who fall the hardest, because they will close the doors very soon from the looks of things. My grass gets greener by the day since I'm out of there. I got out of there before all this crazy crap started.
