I'm sorry but I think they should stay in their my 13 yr old was molested by her father for god only knows how long and i didn't find out about it until we split up and then his excuse was that she reminded him of me now thats sick and his family blamed her and said she should have known better yeah a child should have known instead of the 39 year old man who did it to her. She is terrified she recently found out he only has to serve 120 days of his 8 yr sentence that is even more messed up then the crime it's self how is she suppose to go on with her life and not be scared that he will hurt her after he gets out for telling on him. So you tell me who the real victim is the 39 year old man who has more rights then his victim or the victim who has no rights because she is a child . I think you need to think about what your saying about them being able to be out on the streets because if you have a daughter it's not going to hit home until it happens to her and your up half the night with the nightmares and finding kithcen knives under her pillow because she is scared for her life and can't sleep half the time. For your sake I hope it never does happen for you because it's not something that goes away it stays with them for life it scares them, they no longer have normal lives. They become in a prison all in their own they no longer have a social life and they can't trust anyone.
I too am a mother of bother girls and boys...I was molested many times by my older brother and others as well. There is hope for your child that Jesus Christ can only give. I have had a very normal and healthy relationship with my soul and heart in tack. The mercy you show unto others will be the mercy that is shown unto you. Be a doer of the word and He will set you free....

<quoted text> You poor misguided soul, they cannot be reformed. Feeling unloved is a poor excuse indeed to hurt a child. Some never recover. I am assuming that you are childless. Or that you have never witnessed a child being molested,(I have, my own son) It cuts to the very fiber of your being. All you want to do is kill, but you can't; because if you do kill, your child grows up without a mother. So, for the rest of your life you thank God you had the time with him, to watch him grow up. On the other hand, you think of yourself as a gutless swine because you didn't rid the planet of yet another "child rapist" Yes rape; not molestation. To use the word molestation is to make that horrible act not seem so bad. Please do not feel sorry for them, they do not deserve you kindness...
I noticed you threw the word God in your statement and I am amazed that those words can come out on this site. You obviously dont believe in the same God I know who is all forgiving and clearly states ALL should come to repentence in Christ Jesus. Your lack of love tells me you have alot of reading to do and start living a life that will glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The mercy you show unto others will be the mercy that is shown unto you. I have written to many inmates that have a sex offender label and they now too live by grace through the blood of Jesus.

<quoted text>Have you ever read the laws and penalties on sex offenders. You need to register for life for pissing outside. So why should all sex offenders be punished on different penal code , but still be locked away for life.
There are over 750,000 men, women and children on the National Sex Offender Registry with over 12,000 of those being in Missouri. Statistics from the Justice Policy Institute indicate a 5% recidivism rate for registrants but, it also shows the other 95% of sexual offenses come from within the family unit, friends of the family or someone known to the family. Also, the regisry does nothing to protect the public. It only gives them a false sense of security. Psychologists working with this issue will readily tell you they know where the registrants are but what they are worried about are the cases that never get reported because the wife, mom, sister, etc doesn't want their family to be drug through the media, courts, public causing them to lose everything (jobs, home, friends)....what would you do?

When a registrant is civilly committed there is no plan to rehabilitate them and give them the chance to change.

I do feel rapist and sex offenders should get their just treatment. But there are people that are falsely accused and pay the price. I worked with a man that was accused of sexually abuseing his nonbiological teenage daughter, whom he raised before she was born, He paid a big price for several years, before she came forth and said he was "innocent" and that she did it because he told her NO she couldnt have something she wanted. I also know of a case that involves a young stepdaughter who is scared of her Mom and now that Mom has her house she has always wanted is getting rid of the husband that got it for her (second husband)but because the girl told the state that he did these things "they take an 8 yr old girls word" and never question where she was forced to say these things because she was scared mom might slap her around..even her oldest son doesnt like her..so now shes got her house and getting rid of the husband and "who's gonna pay the price"..the child and the husband. There needs to be a way to determine if the child has been forced to say bad things because they're scared. My heart goes out to the real victims.
I know a lady that was falsely accused but her daughter's ex-boyfriend of attempting to rape him. The daughter used her Mom's cell phone a few times to text him while they were in a relationship and the authorities used that against her when this came to light. The Mom made a coupkle of mistakes in not reporting it, going to the hospital so they could document her bruises from him knocking her around (which he admittted). The Mom's sister took pictures of the bruises and they were presented in court. The kid had been lying about his family situation to get sympathy and had a drug problem. Long story short the Mom had an attorney who took a plea deal without her consent and when in court he told her to say what he told her when he told her to say it. The final result....she was given 5 years probation, has to attend group counceling where "everyone regardless of the situation they were convicted under HAS TO ADMIT TO HAVING A VICTIM or they will be kicked out of the group and will go to prison. This requirement includes any non-contact offense including urinating in public, exposure, sexting, possession of pre-pubescent and teen pornography (which can be suggestive or abusive) and not knowing their age is not a defense. If they LOOK 18 but are actually 13 you are guilty and they are not.

Back to the lady....she wrote her story and started trying to get some media and legislators to listen...the prosecuting attorney in her county got wind of it and is trying to send her to prison for violation of parole. Seems you are not allowed to state you didn't do something if you took a plea deal. Also, it can NEVER be reversed. Next month she will go to prison for 5 years and her kids will have to go live with someone else. She has already lost a very good job and will lose her house.

Some of you people are so ignorant and backward its not even funny. Im a registered sex offender. Im 23 my offense happened when i was 21 my victim was 16 the intercourse was consensual 100% yes i made a mistake in having sex with a female that is technically underage i got a 5 year sis probation sentence and life time sex offender registry. My mistake cost me everything.....yet comw to find out the 25 year old FIREMAN who was sleeping with that same girl the year b4 (15 years old for you uneducated people) wasnt sentenced.....wheres the justice in that? Also we have so many universal laws (driving, drinking, etc) in this country why isnt the legal age. Universal as well? What makes a girl in one state more sexually intelligent and ready than in another state? A lot of the system is messed up and needs to be fixed. And for you ignorant folks that thinks all sex offenders need to be killed and this and that take your mouth off thebtle of vodka for a minute and calm down. The sex offender registry is extremely broad from being seen naked (in your own home) and public urination to Romeo and juliet clauses (together at 16 one turns 17 first and is now illegal) to child molesters and rapists. The latter of the group is extremely dangerous and bad but some are cases of wrong place wrong time and in my case being young dumb and stupid. Read up on whats actually on the registry b4 u go grouping every1 together.
