I think that Kansas should drug test everybody in the state once a day. Think of all the jobs that would create. Damn near every other person would be a drug tester. Full employment!

I think ALL LAW MAKERS IN KANSAS SHOULD BE TESTED FOR DRUG AND ALCOHOL LEVELS TWICE DAILY FOR ONE MONTH. Why allow the Drug/Alcohol Addicts to determine what is right and wrong for the reciepients of Welfare ? Kansas LAW MAKERS WITHOUT PRIOR KNOWLEDGE WHEN THE TEST WILL BE GIVEN, WILL FAIL ON A SCALE THAT IS 1/3 HIGHER THAN WELFARE RECIEPIENTS SIMPLY BECAUSE THE POLITICIANS BELIEVE THEIR ABUSE IS A RIGHT. THE CITIZEN...IS TOO POOR TO AFFORD DRUGS/ALCOHOL and their needs to live through the month. NEXT THE LAW MAKERS CAN FILE LAW SUITS AGAINST THE DOCTORS THAT PROVIDE PRESCRIPTIONS TO THE PERSON ON WELFARE. OF COURSE TO CUT OUT THE MIDDLEMAN, THE POLITICIANS SHOULD BE SINGLED OUT FOR DRINKING AND PRACTICING LAW WHILE USING DRUGS !

Would a person who had a bit of alcohol in his/her blood be disqualified.

Drug screening catches only marijuana users, for the most part. The justifiction you hear over and over is "if they can afford drugs they can afford food." However, since joints are shared, sometimes by people with jobs, and it only takes a few cents worth of pot to make for a positive test.

What you want to do is hold wellfare recipients to a higher moral standard than the general public, and "punish" them and most especially their children. Remember, wellfare is aid to dependent children.

It's the same way with abortion, and everything else the Right touches. Hold everyone to a standard of morality that is impossible to achieve for human beings, then punish people for violations.

The human shit on this board and in Kansas would starve children or put them in foster homes because of a few nano-grams of metabolites in the blood stream. Compare the cost of such insanity with simply allowing the mom to take a few tokes at times.

I've never had an abortion, nor have I ever abused drugs. Why is that such a hard standard to live up to?

A sample of one is meaningless. And smoking a joint is not abuse of drugs. And bringing worthless mutts into the world is hardly anything to brag about. If you can not take care of a baby it is less harmful to carry the baby to term. And don't give me that crap about putting the child up for adoption. The world has too many people and preventing births is the least harmful course, not assuring there are more births.

Have you ever taken a sleeping pill or a pain pill. If so, you have "abused" drugs as much as a light toker.

Smoking a joint is not in the same universe as murdering a helpless innocent little baby. Are you nuts?!?

"Worthless mutts"??? We're talking about priceless human lives here. Get off the dope and get a grip on reality.

A blastula is not a baby any more than a seed is a tree. You don't have a grip.

There's a huge difference between taking 2 completely LEGAL Advil and smoking an ILLEGAL joint, dumshit. It's called THE LAW. You're all over the law when it's pushes in your favor, but if it's something you disagree with, it's fine to ignore the law.

Boy such pristine morality your spout.
Maybe it is a metabolic deficiency that governs your senses.
On further thought, maybe it's just the Progressive human shit life experiment which you gleefully display with malice and forethought. Take another toke ingrate.

Slavery was legal once, earl. The people who helped free them were breaking the law. People who smoke pot are expressing their rights as ennumerated in the constitution, among them (by implication), the freedom to enjoy God's creation.

Interesting analogy. Rights enumerated in the Constitution you uphold when it comes to smoking pot, but when it comes to the rights of the Catholic Church under the 1st Amendment, and they being bound by their conscience not to pay for such services, then you support Obama Care's mandate which tells the Church they must pay for contraception and abortions.
That is seriously faulty thinking. But so Progressive of you.
PS it's enumerated....check your original!!!

Not sure if you were aware of this, but having 'a few tokes at times' is ILLEGAL! If I get tested for it at my job, why shouldn't they get tested it for it to be able to earn their income?

And that is the reason that welfare recipiants should be tested before they get their check. Those that work and pay for welfare recipiants get drug tested to get a job and alot of them get random test to keep their job. So as long as those working are subject to test so should those getting money for nothing. What exactly is not "fair" about that?

And to argue that the welfare is for the kids is just the freakin point. If the person is getting drugs with the money they aren't using it for the kids which is the purpose of it. SO there ya go, test and make sure those getting the money are using it for the kids it's intended for and not for drugs for themselves.
