Why did you bother printing this story? Why not wait until all the facts are in and you can print names and maybe some facts about what happened to cause the accident. You aren't a TV news station who has to fill 24 hours of air time. I try to read the news to get a more complete story rather than a 15 second sound bite. Now you are printing sound bites.

A radio news report said that the mini van was rear ended by a semi. I'm not saying that the driver was on the phone, but again, they are the worst offenders of driving while on the phone. If this was the case, I hope the company/driver gets sued to kingdom come, and ALL companies MANDATE that absolutely no cell phone use while driving is acceptible. Deliveries and shipments were made just fine before cell phones.

61 is a dangerous road, cannot call it a highway as there are driveways off it and lots of roads exiting off it.

It's a lot like highway 8 NE of Forest Lake, 2 lane road with lots of cars turning left and NO left turn lanes, design for disaster.

This 1 wreck killed three times more people than the tornado last year and the tornado recieved much more attention and funding than the road ever will.

Once again Government at its worst!

And we want Government run health care!!

I drive 61 between north branch and 96 quite a bit...and if you go the speed limit, you have a trail of angry peoples weaving all your tailpipe. Semis are the worst, since they should be on 35 anyway and not doing 70 down a road with homes stretched out along it.

Sorry to the families.

I think tail gaters are worse than someone going a little over the speed limit.

But I have never seen one pulled over by the State patrol.
I wonder how many tickets they give to tail gaters?

I will want to know if there's any way to know if the minivan had its turning signal on.

Is the private sector responsible for: road design, traffic enforcement, lighting, signs, construction rerouting, etc etc etc?
