Shrub, real original?
Hey ORJY, are a member of ACORN? You have zero grasp of reality and no common sense. I pity you in your little, deluded bubble. What is the sky in your world? You sound like some misguided freshman over at the U. Get sober, then post...
Oh poor soothsayer, the truth hurt a little?

Your "truth" has hurt our country ALOT!

Sorry again, but as a soothsayer, you should be able to see that I am indeed not a freshman at the U. I, unlike you apparently, am an adult.

It is actually pretty east to define. It is all of the victims of the poor decisions the republicans have inflicted upon this country since you elected the shrub as our president. Oh wait, I meant GAVE the presidency to the shrub who wasn't elected. It's not hard to define who is in need of help these days. It is all of the people that you have driven out of their jobs with your votes.
As far as I can see, the only poor decision here was the one your parents made to pro-create.

If you're serious, you're woefully naive and misinformed...

No misdirects please, you didn't acknowledge ORJY's negativity...how odd? Beating liberals in a debate is quite simple, stick to reality, avoid emotional discourse, be factual and be informed...

The democrats have not had the governor's office in many many years here. Venrura/pawlenty are the 2 responsible for the light rail, and pawlenty ALONE is reponsible for bankrupting our state. Where do you get you false, made up assertions?

Tom Emmer has the ability to Cross check, trip, high stick a run down a frail little non profit activist like the "Little fella" that dumped the bag of pennies on Representative Emmers podium, The bag contained about 1 roll of pennies $1.00 because that is all the non profit activist could carry that was tax exempt.

I guess some other hockey players need to play defensive politics for the Soon to be governor Tom Emmer. The little "Penny dumper" is going to follow the Gov. elect around to attempt to disrupt the great ideas and healing ideas he has for our dusfunctional state. The state will hear and respond to this above average candidate in a positive way.

Tom Emmer's poem of the day: "The Homophobes Are So Nice!"
Andy Birkey at The Minnesota Independent has been doing fabulous yeoman's work on the connections between the Republican Party of Minnesota and homophobic Christian Punk "ministry" band, You Can Run But You Cannot Hide.

Check out Birkey's work in GOP-linked punk rock ministry says executing gays is ‘moral’.

That was followed up by Emmer campaign donated to controversial Christian punk-rock ministry.

And Birkey bird-dogged the story with Emmer on anti-gay hard rock ministry:‘These are nice people’

The Republican-endorsed candidate for governor, Tom Emmer, told the Star Tribune’s Rachel Stassen-Berger that You Can Run But You Cannot Hide Intl., Inc.,“are nice people.” You Can Run is a ministry that brings it’s hard rock evangelism into public schools across the Midwest and its front man, Bradlee Dean, told radio listeners recently that Muslim countries that call for the execution of gays and lesbians are “more moral than even the American Christians.”
Emmer’s campaign has given money to the ministry, and Emmer has appeared on Dean’s radio show, been to Dean’s house and posed for a picture with leaders of the ministry following his endorsement by the Republican Party.

“My understanding is that it’s a Christian-based ministry that’s about family, that is about respect for yourself….I know that they’re a pro-marriage, pro-traditional marriage group,” Emmer told the Strib.

Bradlee Dean, front man for the group, lives in Annandale, which is in my state senate district, so the story quite literally is playing out in my neck of the woods.

Perish the literal-mindedness, though. Time for a poem! Here's a riff on a charming classic by that naughty D. H. Lawrence:

The Homophobes Are So Nice!
By Tom Emmer

The homophobes are so nice
so awfully nice
they are the nicest people in the world.

And what’s more, they’re very nice about being nice
about your being nice as well!
If you’re not nice they soon make you feel it.

Gays and Lesbians and Bisexuals and so on
they’re all very well
but they’re not really nice, you know.
They’re not nice in our sense of the word, are they now?

That’s why one doesn’t have to take their humanity seriously.
We might be nice to them, of course,
maybe, unnaturally—
But it doesn’t really matter what you say about them,
they don’t really matter—*
you can just say anything about them:
be nice, you know, just be nice
but you must never take them seriously, they wouldn’t understand.
Just be nice, you know! oh, fairly nice,
not really nice of course, they take advantage—
but nice enough, just nice enough
to let them feel they’re not quite as nice as they might be.

Lots of liberal republicans??? Oh, I suppose you mean republicans who have been if office long enough to be a complete failure, like bush.

To let you in on a little secret, bush was not a liberal. He was a Reagan republican, willing to destroy our nation for his own personal gain.

I don't know any actual marxists. I suppose you mean by that, compete socialists, like the old Soviet Union? Perhaps there are some in the USA who would support that, I have never heard of any recently. It is a failed doctrine, just like the failed republican doctrine of handing all its power to corporations (which is fascism).

I don't find any liberal republicans. I don't really see any liberal democrats either. The democrats are all way right wing, and the republicans are fanatic right wing. There is no support for the middle, and absolutely no representation for those on the left.

Very few liberals have received education about comparative political sysstems of thought to the point where they can self-identify their beliefs. In fact, many liberals don't even consider themselves liberal--they self-identify as independents. They just take marxist to be an insult without knowing what it actually implies.

I am sure you have a different definition than I do, but I will say I have read the communist manifesto and das kapital, so have more than a passing familiarity in the origins of marxist thought.

Just to keep it simple--if conservative is defined in one respect as favoring small government and liberal favoring big government, where would you put bush on that scale, judging by his actions rather than his words? Any other republicans?

Libs live by the belief that there is a zen-dichotomy of good and evil between dems and repubs. It never occurs to them that the parties are more the same than different.

Don Joe, you're making liberals look stupid.

Fascism has nothing to do with corporate power.

I hate to say this, but P T Bull is right in his assessment of your (lack of) understanding of comparative political systems.

Likewise, many right wing extremists seem to recognize that they are really fascists.
