At least I have the freedom to hop on my Harley and ride without a helmet.
Now wait, IF I have that freedom to ride with increased risk of bodily harm without a helmet then WHY do I need to wear a seat belt or get a ticket?
Automobiles have built in passive restraint systems call air bags. Bikes have none of that.
Answer that smarty pants!
Actually the difference in outcome between a motorcyclists with or without helmet is less different than the difference between an automobile driver wearing a seat belt and one that is not. Basically if your motorcycle is crashed the outcome is going to be bad regardless of helmet status. However, when in a car if you are wearing your seat belt often a person can have minimal or no injury after an accident, a person not wearing a seat belt is very likely to have bad outcome.

It can also be argued that the difference in the experience of riding a motorcycle is greatly affected by wearing a helmet and the difference in experience between wearing a seat belt or not while driving a car is minimal.

i don't wear a helmet. you don't know me or the people in my life so i don't believe that u give a rats-ass about us. i believe that you're passionate about government control & less individual rights cuz u think you know best & want to be our domineering & smothering mom.

It's all about revenue.

Government loves a very complex environment so as to allow many opportunities to "cite" the sheepie for breaking their silly revenue producing laws.

As long as you have a signed donor card in your pocket when driving.

It should be a requirement for not wearing a helmet.

The police are doing a good job. They are trying to keep us safe.
If they want to keep up safe, they should be out arresting drunk drivers, killers, rapists, etc. Not wasting police resources on something like this that is fully designed to generate revenue. That being said, I always wear a seat belt and usually ask that my passengers do too.

I may need a kidney or other body part, If you are going to be brain dead, some of us could use the spare parts.

I feel the same about seat belts, leathers and orange in deer hunting season.

I just got a seatbelt ticket when I was wearing mine. I asked the cop politely to please check the tape in his squad car and hed see I had it on. He screams back "I trust my instinct." Missed day of work to go to court and possibly lose anyway =$250+, Pay these good for nothings and take another hit to my freedom =$106(ramsey county). Least he lied about me not wearing my seatbelt and didnt accuse me of murder. >.> Id be toast

Was driving in northren Wisc in a vehicle that had a difficult time maintaining the speed limit with a line of traffic behind me. A COP going the opposite direction threw on his lights and pointed at me to pull over.

I ignored the jsrk and waited for him to catch me.

Well he did, it was tramatic, he looked inside and walked away, we had lap belts on which were standard in the van. He couldn't see the shoulder belts and ASSUMED we were not wearing belts.

It would be refreshing if the Government minded its own GD business. All these do-gooders can go to he11 and ROT!

To a cat named Frankenstein ohhhh....

The mouse ran down,

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The Slew struck two
And down he flew,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The Slew struck three
And he did flee,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The Slew struck four,
He hit the floor,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The Slew struck five,
The mouse took a dive,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The Slew struck six,
That mouse, he split,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The Slew struck seven,
8, 9, 10, 11,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
As twelve bells rang,
The mousie sprang,
Hickory Dickory dock.

Hickory Dickory dock,
"Why scamper?" asked the Slew ,
"You scare me so

Nothing worse than an ignorant Gestapo, the number of law enforcemet in the USA could be halved with no impact on health OR saftey of residents.
