For a pickup truck that a lot of naysayers didn't give much of a chance, it's quite an achievement:... Rob Bell at the Power Center Theater on the University of Michigan Campus in Ann Arbor on Thursday, February 8, 2007.

It is amazing how many of the mega church evangelists and ministers end up disgracing the Bible -- Jimmy Swaggart and his prostitutes, Jim and Tammy Fae Baker with their greed -- as with the TBS ministers in California, Robert Schuller and his fiasco nepotism and lawsuits against Crystal Cathedral Ministries and now the "king" of Mars Hill moving to California and supporting gay marriage. Add to that pope after pope that dismantles Catholic teaches while hiding and pampering gay priests and pedophiles. There is little wonder why the Christian church is in decline. It is the only major world religion that is shooting itself in the foot by giving up its doctrinal basis. Consequently, it is declining, other religions are bullying it, and it has made itself an object of ridicule. It is hard to see this as anything other than the great falling away from the faith in the Last Days that the Bible speaks of. Even Jesus had to ask, "When the Son of Man returns, will he find faith on the earth." The only comfort for those who hold to the truth is, "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give to you the kingdom."

Bell spoke of his support of gay marriage on Sunday at Grace Cathedral, which is the cathedral for the Episcopal Diocese of California.

Since he comes from a conservative evangelical culture, Bell's support of gay marriage has caused a buzz, with some supporting his move while others seeing it as a further betrayal of his Christian beliefs. Bell has caused controversy in the past for his liberal views; his 2011 book on hell suggested that non-Christians like Gandhi might not be in hell, a stance that upset some conservative evangelicals.

Sounds like the Pastor met God.

Kudos to him....

Bell is nothing more than a modern day Spong.

A theological lightweight (like you MW) looking to sell books so he takes the "popular" position.
