They wisely decided to go for 2016 instead of 2014.

We have to raise the money & collect the signatures to put it on the ballot, since the GOP controlled legislature will never vote to put it on the ballot.

But either way, we WILL vote in 2016.

Typical "compassionate" liberal response. Why are you and your ilk so angry all of the time?

Who's angry? I'm very happy with my husband of 26+ years and happy with where society is moving on equality.

Your self-inflicted death would be the icing on the cake.

Hmmmm. Wishing death on those who disagree with you. Should we start classifying your group as a terrorist organization??

Nope, just offering you an answer to your obvious misery over equal rights. You could always move to Iran or Saudi Arabia where you'll be welcomed with the other anti-gays. Or stay here so the rest of us can enjoy your misery.

Either way, it's your choice.
Vote NO to Gay Marriage

Midland, MI

#12 Jun 14, 2013
Stay here, Pete. The people of Michigan will vote NO on repealing our Marriage Protection Amendment.
As predicted by 2009 poll by Democratic pollster Mark Grebner of Lansing, who found that 90 percent of Republicans, 60 percent of independents, and 49 percent of Democrats would vote against repealing Michigan's marriage amendment if it appears again on the ballot. Homosexual activists are delusional if they think public opinion has suddenly, miraculously reversed itself.

Pssst, it's 2013- not 2009, and the vote won't happen until 2016.

Not sudden or miraculous; just the simple fact that support for marriage equality has been increasing by 1-2% points every year.

Believe what you want; only you and your fellow anti-gays will be surprised when our ban is eventually overturned.

Who said I was anti-gay"?? The real bigots here are people like you that assume if someone is anti gay "marriage" then we're automatically part of some homophobic hate group.

Because if you oppose equal rights for same-sex couples, including the right to marry, that makes you anti-gay. It's like saying you're not a racist, but you just don't think blacks should have the same rights as everyone else.

Spin it however you want, you'll always be a bigot.

The bigot here is you, friend. My support of traditional marriage in no way "makes me anti-gay". I had an uncle who was gay (he passed away 2 years ago). I've had many uncles and he was by far my favorite because he was a genuinely nice guy, had a great outlook on life, and was fun to be around. I never looked down upon him due to his sexual orientation, he was just uncle Bob. On that same note, if he would've ever decided to get married, I would not attend the wedding and would be more than happy to tell him why I wouldn't.

You see, me being loyal to traditional values of this country doesn't make me homophobic, a hater, or a bigot. I notice that you love to throw the "bigot" card on the table at every opportunity, but you'd best look in the mirror the next time you decide to drop that buzz word again, as you just may be the one who fits that definition.

Just as those opposed to opposite-race marriages based on "traditional values".

Spin it however you want, but opposition to equal rights makes you a bigot.

Own it.

There you go throwing out the stale "bigot" card again (and again and again). I know of gay people that don't agree with gay "marriage". So by your reasoning, gays that aren't lock step in line with every aspect of your gay agenda are "anti-gay"? Do you know how silly this makes you sound?

Seriously dude, you need to take a step back and reevaluate your reasoning process because you sound ridiculous. Your seething hatred of those who have a differing opinion than you is making you blind to common sense.

I openly admit that I am accepting of gays in the community, yet still believe in traditional marriage. And for that opinion I'm called names by you, labeled a "bigot", and review previous posts from you stating that you'd take pleasure in me killing myself. I think it's obvious who the real bigot is here. God have mercy on your poor, hate filled soul.

Yes, a gay person who opposes equal marriage rights for same-sex couples is as anti-gay as you.

Same for a black person who opposes equal rights for black people.

Or a jewish person who opposes equal rights for jews.

Etc.

You're a bigot. Own it.

Btw, I need no mercy from your hocus-pocus fairytale creature.

Sorry bigot boy. Stating that a gay person is "anti-gay" if they support traditional marriage not only makes you wrong, but illustrates how silly and bigoted you really are.

It must be miserable being a liberal, waking up everyday being bitter, angry, and consumed with hate.

The fact that you're an obvious bigot and a genuine hater of anyone who doesn't agree with every aspect of your agenda, tells me that you're probably a racist too, as your lack of intelligence and narrow mindedness knows no bounds. That being the case, I'll not waste anymore of my time trying to reveal common sense to someone who is consumed with hate and too intellectually inferior to understand the absurdities of what he posts.
