I'm glad to see that there's some activity on overturning Michigan's ban. I think we'll know a lot more when both the SCOTUS decisions are released and that judge in the Michigan case releases his decision.

Here's to hoping!!

With popular support turning in our favor, I doubt it.

So when I get an initiative on the ballot to overturn the ban on public nudity, I can count on your vote for my right to mow my lawn stark naked. After all, aren't you people all for equality and civil rights?

Nudity laws are not an equal protection issue. Only a fool would offer the example you have and think that it was remotely similar.

No, you and your ilk are constantly promoting your right to "happiness", that being gay is a natural thing, and stating that gay "marriage" doesn't affect anyone else, so just let it happen. Well the same can be said for me strutting around my yard in the nude. Being naked may make me happy. Nudity is certainly a natural thing and that being the case, if it's offensive to you, it's your problem. Doesn't make it right.

Maybe after public nudity passes, I'll work on abolishing "ladies night" at the bars. After all, it's unfair that women should be afforded the right to get a discount on drinks just because of their gender. Now I'm sure I can count on your vote when this is proposed as a law. After all, you're all about "equal protection".

Wow, you're not so bright.

This isn't about happiness, which was only mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. This is about equal protection of the law, which is guaranteed by the 14th amendment.

How many states allow legal marriage?
Now, how many states allow you to mow in the nude? Can you even find one where public nudity is allowed?

Do you see how foolish your hypothetical question is?

All states allow legal marriage. Couldn't tell you how many allow your so-called gay "marriage.

Back in the good old days, if you even proposed the idea of gay "marriage", you'd get laughed out if the city, if not knocked upside your head. So you see, the idea of mowing my lawn in the nude nowadays sounds just as "foolish" as two dudes marrying each other would've been back in the golden age of this country.

Hey there, witless, it's just marriage. Some states allow same sex couples to marry. Soon all of them will. Do you know why? Because witless individuals, like yourself, lack a rational basis to deny equal protection.

Back in the good old days, we had slaves, women couldn't vote, schools were segregated, and interracial couples could not not marry.

Do you see a trend? Equality wins every time, it just takes too long.

Go for it! See first hand how much fun it is to try and pass equal rights legislation in the face of hoards of panicking, pant-wetting moralists that scream and lie and raise MILLIONS to use against you in your fight for equal rights.

Let's see now, you'll have to fight back against the people that claim children will all suddenly leave "christianity" and become devil-worshipers if you get the right to be nude outside. Then there's the people that will frantically pass constitutional amendments against you having the right to be nude ANYWHERE, including inside your own home. They'll declare that you being allowed to be nude will make everyone ELSE want to be nude, too, and then all the clothing manufacturers will go out of business overnight.

You'll face people claiming that you being nude is only the start of a slippery slope to everyone in the world becoming pedophiles and raping children while their parents stand helplessly by and watch, powerless against a government hell bent on destroying everything you've ever knew.

And people will BELIEVE those lies! And, as outrageous as they are, you WILL have to defend your stance against their stupidity or, guess what?? They'll win because you can't fight stupid. But you'll have to anyway.

Oh, you'd have my vote, for sure. But good luck getting it on the ballot. And have fun!! I'd pay big bucks to watch the show!!

So I suppose it's "equality" too when some pervert that claims to have a "gender identity" crisis is allowed to use the girls bathroom because it's discriminatory to only have access to the men's room.

And don't tell me that scenario is far fetched. Your fellow nut jobs out in California are already testing the waters on that one.

Not at all, it's a separate issue. I am not surprised at all that you would bring up such an irrelevant and inflammatory issue.

It's funny that you seem to insinuate that every pro gay "marriage" post from you and your ilk is insightful and common sense. Yet any rebuttal I bring up which is relatable, such as someone with a "gender identity" crisis is automatically "irrelevant and inflammatory".

Being for equality for same sex couples to marry is pro equality and in accordance with the US constitution, being against is ignorant and bigoted.

Your arguments are regularly irrelevant, and seem design only to attempt to inflame debate. You have no valid on topic insight or you would already have employed it.

So how is it any different when a guy who thinks he was born a chick wants equal protection to use the ladies room? I reckon that's afforded to him in the constitution too, right next to your "right" to gay "marriage". Would it not be "ignorant and bigoted" of you to deny a request such as this to a person who only wants equality for people with gender identity issues?

Or incest and polygamy for that purpose. I thought you people were all about the right for consenting adults in love to marry...be it brother and sister, mother and son, or one dude marry 6 other dudes.

Or maybe that's just another "irrelevant" argument as you only want to afford this right to the gay community.

If you have to ask that, you are dimmer than I have given you credit for. Feel free to cite state restroom laws if you are able. Marriage is a protection of the law in every state in the union. Being law, and absent a compelling state interest to the contrary, the 14th Amendment says it must be afforded equally to all.

It's repetitively inept to bring up the utterly irrelevant situation of transgender restroom usage. One must have no argument whatsoever if they need to stoop to such an irrelevant argument.

Good news! Those are separate issues that have already been addressed as a matter of law, and allowing same sex marriage would have no impact upon the laws already on the books concerning these points.

The reason to prevent incest is that incestuous procreation leads to a demonstrably higher instance of birth defects and mental illness.

As for polygamy, anyone who can count see that by definition it seeks greater, not equal protection of the law.
