Frist of all if your deserving a spanking, your mom should do it in a privet place like at home, and no child should be told there not alowed to ware clothes, thats sick in the head, and mean,if a parent wishes to bare there child butt to spank it thats ok, if its done with a hand but not with a veary hard object because of the bottom made up of bones and muscels, all chirldrn do something bad at times, but a parent always needs after the spanking to hold there child and explane why they got spanked, and to reasure the child that parent loves them, but will punish them for the thing they did, if you love your child , which is a god gift,then bring them up in love and fear of punisment , so they understand if they do the crime they also pay for there crime.

I AGREE,A child has rights to, and a spanking should of been done at home behind closed doors,and maybe a nother adult there to see that the spanking don't go to far, because when a parent is mad at there child, they over look that little face that puts all there hope into them.
I when i lived back in burlington, was at a lundry matt once near where i live, and this women had a almost two year old child,a girl, and the baby was being good, but she was wanting something from her mommy, and the mom kicked her, and screemed at her, and slammed her into a chair, the poor thing wanted a drink i found out, and as i talked to the mom of this crying child i held, she had been the victom of an abousive man in her life, and she was beatting daly, it showed on her face and arms.
I found out she lived behind me,and i told her if it got bad on her , and she needed time,she could come for me,and i would take care of the baby for free, as well as help her.
With a little help and incuragment she kicked him out, and had him charged for beating her and the baby, so any time no matter what kind of abouse it is stick your neck out to help some one, and it might save a life. peggy

It didn't work. All her kids ended up messed up.
She also had a nasty attitude with them verbally in private and in public.

While I don't think it was ok for the child to have been punished on bare skin, I don't see anything wrong with this Aunt spanking him in front of the entire class. Maybe, just maybe, something will sink in to this child not to do whatever he did to deserve reprimand in the first place and maybe it taught the rest of the class a lesson as well.
Oh and for you people that want to scream about it being a belt, check with your local Child Protective Services, a bare hand is worse than a belt. A belt is a tool that can be used and not an extension of the PERSON administering the discipline.
There is a big difference between child abuse and discipline. This particular Aunt took it too far when she had the boy take his pants down, I agree, that was mentally abusive in front of his peers, but I guarantee he thinks twice about whatever it was he did.

I agree - it didn't work for me (I do not respect my parents as parents)- put it did give me a nice case of PTSD - humiliation stays with a child forever. On the upside - it makes me a better parent.

I think the child probably got what he deserved. That's not to say it was the right thing to do to inflict the whole siuation on all the other kids, but it seems like a pretty trivial thing.
