Gay marriage: The misinformation campaign begins

There are 111 comments on the www.baltimoresun.com story from Aug 26, 2012, titled Gay marriage: The misinformation campaign begins. In it, www.baltimoresun.com reports that:

The campaign to affirm Maryland's marriage equality law at the ballot box began in earnest last week when the secretary of state released the official language that voters will see when they go to the polls in November. It lays out in straightforward terms what the law does and what it doesn't do. It allows Marylanders to vote for permitting gay and lesbian couples to obtain a civil marriage license but does not compel any religious figure to perform or recognize gay marriages or to provide goods or services for a gay wedding. Quite simply, it says that Maryland recognizes the need to treat everyone with fairness and equality while maintaining the respect for religious liberty that was a bedrock of this state's founding.

As if right on cue, up pops our favorite troll to regurgitate his favorite spam chunks against same sex marriage. Like the headline says, "The Misinformation Campaign Begins". Thanks David for proving the Baltimore Sun right, you didn't need to, but we certainly appreciate you efforts to unintentionally embarrass the living f*ck out of the opponents of equality by having to be associated with a deranged monger such as yourself.

There's a difference between "misinformation" and "disinformation".

This is definitely the latter.

These ballot questions are ours to lose.

Every poll shows a majority support marriage equality in Maryland, Maine, & Washington.

If we can't counter these lame ass arguments and get our supporters to the polls this year, then we might as well give up the fight and just wait for the courts to finally act- in another decade or two.

Conversely, a win at the polls in any of these could turbo charge the equality movement in other states.

I'm waiting to see how the pro-equality side responds to these COMPLETELY EXPECTED attacks from the anti-gays. We've had FOUR YEARS since the California debacle to come up with a strategy; let's see how they do.

Hick, if any portion of my post isn't true, why can't you or any of your fellow empty headed homofascist fanatics refute any of it?

You're the troll here, Hick. You can document no country on earth where any significant percent of the homosexual population has 'married' after your ridiculous oxymoron was enacted.

You can make no rational case for disenfranchising Americans to force your concocted failed philosophy into law.

You can provide no rational justification for government involvement in any legal homosexual relationship, Hick.

Face reality, Hick. Most elderly homosexuals are just like you: dissipated, alone, despised, and reaping the rewards of choosing to live in open rebellion against God's Commands against your lifestyle choice.

Why don't you go back to posting your picture, Hick? It serves as a warning to young people considering the mistakes you've made.

NUMEROUS 'polls' in the past have been proven wrong. Voters have ALWAYS supported real marriage verus the fraud of homosexual 'marriage.'

Is it any wonder that people answer that they agree when a polling group phones them? Homofascists can make no rational case for the fraud of homosexual 'marriage,' so they ATTACK those who disagree. Look at the incident last week at the HQ of a Christian organization in DC. After Prop 8, churches were vandalized and a young Mormon bishop was murdered by a radical homofascist fanatic.

Voters will of course reject homosexual 'marriage,' just as homosexuals themselves have overwhelmingly rejected it as an actual practice in EVERY country that allows your ridiculous oxymoron!

At this point, knowing as we do every single point the bigots are going to play, it's about time for someone or some group to come up with appropriate responses to refute their nonsense (and the money to run counter ads). What I'd really like to see is back-to-back commercials: first the anti-gay, followed immediately by a message refuting the lie in their ad.

Some examples:

Their argument: Parents will want to know how this affects what is taught in schools...[of course their point is much more specific about the horrific effects - e.g., children will be forced to learn that there actually gay people]

Response: Question 6 includes no mandates about curriculum whatsoever. What is taught in schools is determined not by the legislature but by local superintendents and school boards, and they are focused on making sure students master reading, writing and math.[And I personally don't see a problem with questioning why it is so bad for a child to learn that there are gay people - there's at least one in every classroom who is going through hell because of all the negatives that are spewed. Don't these children count, do we not care about ALL children?]

Their argument: Business owners have a right to know if their personal opinions about same-sex marriage will find them in violation of the law...

Response: Question 6 has nothing to do with that, either. The gay marriage law is silent on the issue of public accommodations because that has been settled law in Maryland for more than a decade. Just as that hypothetical baker can't now refuse to serve someone because he is Catholic or black or disabled, he cannot refuse to serve someone because of his sexual orientation. That was the result of a law championed by then-Gov. Parris Glendening in 2001. It was controversial at the time, but it has not led to bakers (or anyone else) getting busted by the thought police in the decade since.

The secret bisexuality of those who just cannot seem to grasp that being gay is not, in fact, a choice also helps us to understand the intense hostility that some males feel for openly gay men. Research has shown a positive correlation between a man’s loathing of gay men and his own repressed same-sex desires.“Since homosexual behavior violates both their moral code and their sense of identity,” explained the psychologists Donald Mosher and Kevin O’Grady long ago,“homosexual threat is experienced as men become aware at some level of their … arousal to homosexual stimuli. This awareness can be avoided by anger, disgust, and contempt directed against homosexuals.

Homomarriage is indeed based on misinformation. Homosexual 'marriage' is a cruel lie with no real basis in how homosexual live!
No significant percent of the homosexual population has 'married' in ANY country that allows it, and studies have shown that few such 'marriages' are even exclusive relationships.
The homosexual 'marriage' movement is a hate based political charade attacking what others hold sacred.
No homosexual relationship shares the reasons for government involvement in real marriage. No economically or physically unequal genders are involve. No child is ever born as a direct result, and no such relationship can provide a child with a father and mother. Having both is one of the most accurate statistical predictions of a child's future success in life.
Homosexual themselves overwhelmingly reject 'marriage' as an actual practice in EVERY country that allows the concocted oxymoron

Yes, Ms. Lott, we know you hate yourself and the horrible perversion that has ruined your life and separated you from God. You don't need to keep trying to emphasize that fact by accusing everyone of sharing your perversion who exposes the fraud behind your horrible hate based movement.

We GET it already! Your very worst insult is to claim others share your perversion. Someday maybe you'll figure out that such claims just make YOU look pathetic!

Good ideas. I hope the pro-equality groups are better prepared this time, but I fear the'll use the same touch-feely ads that failed in the past.

They're afraid to call the bigoted christians on their bigotry; not to mention their lying, which I think is supposed to be against their bible.
