Also, LWOP is much more costly to the taxpayer than the death penalty. You have to factor in medical, dental care, and "geriatric care" as well as endless appeals when it comes to cost. That costs much more than even 10 years of appeals and chemicals. Also, if misstakenly released, the murder cycle repeats itself.
