Dec 20, 2012 Full story: EDGE 1,477

On December 7, marriage equality proponents heard the news they'd been waiting to hear: that the Supreme Court will review whether the Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8 violate the Equal Protection clause of the Constitution.

You are meeting one right now.
I consider it a variation, not a "defect." "Defect" carries with it a lot of subjective feeling that evidences your real motivations.
To whatever extent you believe or don't believe in the role of genetics in homosexuality, one thing is certain: that however it arises, it is a naturally occurring phenomenon.
In the words of the great Dorothy Parker "Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common."
There are always exceptions. Would you like a list of things that occur naturally? If Ms Parker used 'homosexuality' instead of 'heterosexuality' we'd be on the same page.

It would be nice if the lived their lives and let other people live theirs.
Can you cite a case where the court actually sided WITH your argument?

Citing cases that were dismissed is relatively inept.

1. How does forbidding a gay couple from marriage encourage straight marriage? It doesn't.
2. Student loans for non students? You are hilarious. Is that like chemo for non-cancer patients?
its like breeding rights for non breeders...see how that works?

No, you are wasting my time as an user name changing liar, who is incapable of fundamentally supporting their argument.

Feel free to grow up and truly join the conversation. Personally, I think you lack the mental capacity to indicate any legitimate state interest (the necessary standard to meet a rational basis test, the lowest level of judicial review to see that a law can legally stand) served by denying same sex couples equal protection of the law to marry.

A competent person making a valid argument would be able to support it. You, on the other hand, cannot.

It isn't about the court or the case. It's about the gay agenda and how they try to force their way into the lives of others. You would have to be less than a moron to not understand that, but you are Justice Dumbass. Now, STFU and go play with your alphabet blocks.

I notice you play stupid tactics and refuse to take the very answers you requested. Here, I'll number them for you:
1. you cannot subsidize EVERYONE, if we encouraged gays, who are we encouraging them OVER and WHY would we do that given there is a less a benefit to society than dealing with BREEDERS...
2. Do we need to give a reason not to encourage non students for a student loan program, you just aren't the folks we are looking for go away!
I noticed you never said why you think you are similarly situated to 90% of current marriages...
1. We will never have to subsidize everyone because not everyone gets married. But since you admit there IS a benefit to society by gays marrying, then that is the reason to encourgage them to marry.
2. As long as you turn away ALL non-students. If you allow some non-students, then you have to justify why those non-students are allowed a student loan but other non-students aren't.

3. Because we're legally married by the state. That makes us similarily situated to all other legally married couples.

is love required of a marriage?
nope...
can you explain how this can be?
If the clerk issues the license knowing the couple is only marrying for immigration staus, then the clerk can be charged as an accomplice to the fraud.

Love isn't required, but intentionally defrauding the govt or a company is still a crime.

No, it's more like ALLOWING student loans for SOME non-students just because they dress like a typical student even though they have no intention or desire or ability to go to school; while simultaneously DENYING them for OTHER non-students just because they don't look like the typical student, even if they have a desire & intent to go to school but may need a ride from a someone else in order to get to class.

Now THAT's how you do an analogy.

Yeah, because YOUR SIDE LOST!!!!

I bet it WOULD be all about the court if your side had won.

We WILL continute to teach EVERYONE that gays are just like everyone else whenever & where ever we can.

Feel free to try to stop us.

I am quite a long way from being an "exception" in having this attitude towards homosexuality.

As another poster already advised, I think you really should get out more. Also, Parker's point and accompanying ironic humor seems to have been lost on you, a trait I notice is common among those who fashion themselves as social conservatives.

I've watched this conversation with interest, and come to the conclusion that you really do not have an argument against gay marriage outside of your personal distaste for it.

It would be one thing if somehow, some way legalized gay marriage affected you or your interests, but factually it simply does not.

So what are we left with? You never answered my previous question - so we can all assume you are motivated by simple, ignorant bigotry?

Or do you have a better reason?

but according to you, two people and a desire to marry is all that is required, how is that not what we call a fraud marriage?

How is it a fraud if they wanted to marry, and they are two people?

I guess SOMETHING more is REQUIRED, right?
