H1N1 FLU Schools, towns: Where's vaccine?

It is called the "economics of shortages"! Remember 3 or 4 years ago the regular flu virus shots were difficult to get. It later became available at a higher cost. It is all about the money$$$

I agree. This percieved shortage (or controlled release) is a great thing for drug companies. Vaccine shortages and epidemics benefit their bottom line.

Have no fear, President Obama will take care of this. Just keep your hope up and watch for the change to come. This is all Bush's fault anyway. There will be more flu virus vaccine doses than illegal aliens by January. But by then the pandemic will be over!!!

The only reason I was able to receive the seasonal flu vaccine and the H1N1 vaccine is because I am a registered nurse. My husband and children are out of luck, but we're glad for the losers at Gitmo. Obama is so WRONG, it makes me so irate. This country hasn't seen the half of the damage he'll do...

What does this have to do with H1N1?
Are you under the impression that the custodians are disinfecting desks? The kids and the teachers do this themselves at least a couple of times each week.

This whole thing has been an utter fiasco. They didn't make enough vaccines for the seasonal flu because they moved all of their resources over to making H1N1 flu vaccines. The H1N1 vaccines are now in short supply. By the time those vaccines are readily available, it will be too late since so many people are already sick now.
Everyone in the government and health industries knew for months about the swine flu so why were they so ill-prepared???

There are thousands of federal, state and local government organizations. can anyone name even 5 that you would call well run, efficient or if they were private you would be willing to invest in?

So instead of the kids throwing papers on the ground PUT IT IN THE THRASH CAN! Instead of making a mess in the bathrooms - use the bathroom and GO!
Why can't the kids today follow school rules! It's called RESPECT!
Yes the school should have custodians, maybe they should incorporate the Sr & Jrs in a school custodial program. Let the kids be responsible for for what they have destroyed. During the day they can go behind other kids to remind them to put stuff in the trash or clean up where they eat.
Let them wear a badge so others know they are part of a program to keep school clean. After school let them earn a few dollars and vacuum, wipe down the bathrooms, sweep the floors, pull trash, might teach them something.

The kids aren't doing it because a lot of their parents aren't doing it. I am amazed at how people just overlook litter. How many people will walk by a trash can and not pick up a piece of trash that is on the ground in front of it. 99% of the people just walk by it. If we all just stooped down and threw it in, our towns would all be much better for it. Our kids would learn by our example. Go to a pop warner football game and see an overflowing trash can and watch the parents still toss their DD cup on the ground beside it instead of looking for another can or bringing that cup home to throw away. We are not teaching our kids by example, the parents are just as irresponsible as they are teaching their kids to be.

We have a president who really does not care for the USA, he's never served in the military to defend the USA, he really has no allegiance to the USA, he's another Anti-USA type.

Yes, I think all those who voted Obama in are now just "getting it".....as we knew they would. He wasn't the man for the job. Where are the withdrawal of troops???? Oh, could it be that the Republicans were right? That there is actually a need for these troops????? and now this flu vaccine fiasco! Like the other writer said! Wait til he gets ahold of our health care!!!! And there will be no going back! It frightens me to think of what our old age brings or doesn't bring! As it is now, it almost seems that my elderly parents get a cold ear when talking with doctors........you all know the scenario......no phone calls back regarding concerns and fears and lukewarm doctor visits. Its scary.

I agree, and I've heard that not even all of the troops overseas have had the vaccination yet either. It's going around in the war zones pretty fast, with the soldiers being so close together. But yet the prisoners and terrorists get the vaccination first. That's pretty sad.

The prisoners will be able to get the h1n1 shot. but the officers were told if there are any available we will distribute them to the officers.
What is going on? give it to the children people who need it like my girlfriend that has cancer, she is still waiting for the HlNl hopefully she gets it in time.

I am disgusted how its so hard to get flu, etc. but i bet ObAMA and family were the first in line!!!
