The reason his mother keeps being brought up is because he appears to have received special treatment... and the obvious reason as to why this might have happened is because of his mother. No one is accusing his Mother of committing a crime... only of using her political connections to pull the judge's strings.

Fortunately for the public, J.Barrow failed his drug test earlier today and is back in jail.

I'm so tried of all of you people who need to get a life. I just goggled the other young man's name and not one long, detailed actile about him. Everyone is focused on the fact that the other person involved parent is a state rep.. So what!!!!!! She did not pull the trigger!!!!! LEAVE HER ALONG!!!! IS THERE ANY PROOF THAT SHE IS THE REASON HER SON WAS RELEASED BY JUDGE CLARK? NO!!! THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT ARE PAID TO DO THOSE THINGS FOR YOU. THEY ARE CALLED LAWYERS.SO LETS PRAYER YOU WILL NOT NEED TO CALL ONE FOR YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN IN YOUR LIFETIME

Unbelievable. It's asinine to even think that Rep. Barrow had nothing to do with Judge Clark setting the bond. It'a another example of a black public official using their position to get something that a regular citizen could not. You're right in a sense that she did not pull the trigger but if she would have raised her son better then he probably would not be in this position today. Maybe if she would have spent less time "working" with the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Program, the Foster Grandparents Program, and the Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce she would have had more time to raise her own son. By the way, I have not heard any mention of the boy's father. Is he in jail also?

So you must not be paying attention to the news. His FATHER AND HIS GRANDMOTHERS are the ones that he was released to. Maybe you need to pay more attention to the facts before you get on here writing about things you dont know. Yes he's back in jail so now yall people can find someone else to gossip about. MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. But please remember TROUBLE DONT LAST ALWAYS!!!!!!!

I'll agree that Rep. Barrow is not responsible for her son's actions. But, Judge Janice Clark is. She previously let him bond out on a prior violent charge. This new charge should have revoked that bond. It's a violation. And now his alledged crimes have escalated. A $100,000 personal surety bond? Give me a break! He's not a flight risk? What a bout the risk to the general public's safety? How do you think that the Cole family feels knowing that Judge Clark obviously has some type of agenda with this young man? She's a civil judge, but just happens to come to the rescue of this young man is CRIMINAL court every time he is caught. Regardless of who his mama is or anyone's color of skin.....Judge Janice Clark is wrong! She's pulling strings and making it easy for accused murders to kill again. Let's hold Judge Clark accountable and file complaints Louisiana! I'm a black woman and am very disappointed in her. Don't make this a race issue. It isn't. Mr. Barrow is a threat to our safety. Judge Clark is a threat to our safety.

IT APPEARS AS IF THE JUDGE WAS PERHAPS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ALL THIS AND BUILT IN A FAIL SAFE PLAN INTO THE RELEASE IN CASE THINGS GOT "UGLY" FOR HER.IT DID. HE TESTED POSITIVE, LIKE SHE KNEW HE WOULD.BACK TO LOCKUP HE GOES.THATS A WRAP. SMOOTH!!!

I'm an avid reader of Louisiana history and current events. I am fascinated by the shenanigans some of the Louisiana politicians (not necessarily Ms. Barrow) get away with under the "business as usual" heading.
I don't know Ms. Barrow. I don't know anything about her. I never heard or read her name until this article appeared and I began doing some research on who she is and what connections she might have.
You must admit it seems strange (if all you know about this is what appears in the news) that the son of a State official has been in trouble with the law twice and both times the same civil court judge set the bond.
Does that happen often (civil court judges setting bonds in criminal cases) for the children of John Q. Public who have no connections?
Did you really say that, Prag? Funny, that I see comments about certain politicians hastily removed, but the nasty ones about "et al" remain. Pick a side of the fence, please. You cant be so subjective in your "pick on the politician statements" and truly believe no one notices. It DOES make you APPEAR biased, whether you are or not.

I agree with you. It is not the mother who is the accused here. One person cannot control the actions of another just because that person might be their mother. On the other hand, children learn what they live, and if they learn that they are above the law, that, too, is how they will live. Believe me, this isnt the first time a politician's kid got away without any skid marks. Just a bigger ego.

It is unfair to make this an issue of race. What about other "breeds?" Black politicians are still politicians, and the color of their skin has nothing to do with the crime, or abuse of the political system in regard to political favoritism.
