The JPPSS has a long history of blaming Teachers and School Administrators for everything that goes wrong in the schools. High ranking school officials and school board members seem to be completely blind to the totality of the situation. Teachers, School Administrators, Parents and the Students themselves need to be held accountable, along with the actions of the superintendent and his staff members, as well as, all of the school board members.
From my experience in working in the JPPSS for nearly 30-years is the biggest problems have always been the lack of accountability and parental involvement. Additionally, I personally felt that Central Office Personnel needed to be MUCH more active in daily school activities. Too many administrators were sitting around central office talking about all the things that needed to be implemented in the schools, but accomplished little more that discussing the various topics. I MUST give Dr. James Meza credit for resolving that very serious problem by sending idle administrators back to the schools.
Parent should be encouraged to volunteer to work as hall monitors, teacher assistants, cafeteria workers, clerical staff, file clerks, and individual student mentors and personal escorts. Additionally, the JPPSS could save millions of dollars each and every school year if cameras were installed in every class room, just on discipline issues alone. Cameras in class rooms assure everyone that Teachers are teaching and Students are behaving themselves, participating and progressing. Cameras in class rooms hold every ones feet to the fire and provide easy accountability access.

If you as an American citizen are happy with the status quo, then put this book down. This is a book that’s all about opening up doors and windows and letting the sun light in. This is a book about empowering Americans to take control of their lives. This is a book about stepping up to the plate for our children by being better teachers, better parents and better role models. This is a book about getting parents into the schools, and teachers out into the communities. This is a book about saving our children by helping them to make the right choices in life as a first resort, not as a last resort.
First and foremost, this is a book about becoming much more involved in our children’s lives by empowering them with education, knowledge and wisdom.

you are correct.
And adding required Early Childhood Education (3 years old ) to our curriculum for all children will turn-around our history of students performing below grade level.

"LIPSTICK on the MIRROR"
According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington recently was faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day, the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror. There are teachers, and then there are educators...
