I have no doubt that most fundamentalists have a twisted up personal interpretation of Christianity only as a means of perpetuating lies in pursuit of their selfishness. I just don't see too much of a difference between them and most other groups of Americans who think the system doesn't work, and are glad to break the law in their own private pursuits. Some are just more aggressive on the individual level than others. Some do little more than keep their silence to protect their jobs. It's all BS to me.

Gee, nobody knew that...and do you really believe that should any of them be alive today, given the CURRENT state of science, technoloy and its continued progress, that they would have such so-called faith? I don't...in fct, they didn't even hold their respective cutures views duing their lifetimes...didn't mention that ALL of those folks placed knowldge before deities no that they are known historically as SCIENTISTS, and their accomlishmentd in SCIENCE, ot RELIGION...beCause THEY were SMARTER than the average pew-sitter.

studying how people will try to rationalize what they know to be a lie is fascinating. even when they can be shown openly that they were lied to, they will try for years to try and twist the lie to support their cult's beliefs....
it's way better than watching rats runa maze, and they can almost feed themslelves....
Agreed. It's virtually impossible for them to apply the same rational they use to dismiss every other possible 'god' ever imagined by man to the 'god' the were raised to believe is 'real'. For them, it's easier to cling to their beliefs, no matter how absurd, than it is to admit they are wrong

MY evidence?

Sorry.

I'm not involved in the research.

You can find the evidence other independent sources and fields of study have found and make your own evaluation.

But, of course, you don't have enough personal integrity to do that.

Tell you what.

When you've looked at the real, independently arrived at evidence with the same rigor that I've looked for evidence of your, or any other god or intelligent creator, we can talk.

Until then, you've got nothing.

There is, the mafia and drug cartels recognized this about 20-25 years ago and jumped on the gravy train. Dig deep enough into non-profit structures and you'll run across their spore. From no-bid purchasing for building materials , to funny bookkeeping it's all there if anyone want's to look. Often the excuse given when caught is they were doing "good" with "dirty" money. Um, that's money laundering.
The FFRF has filed suit against the IRS for not requiring churches to provide the same onerous and costly yearly applications that are required of non sectarian non profits.

Churches should be accountable for their finances the same as any other non profit that is granted tax free status.

As of now, they, in large part, are not.

"Many people do not believe that the Bible is a reliable document of history. But, the fact is the Bible is very trustworthy as a historical document. If we were to look at a chart that compared the biblical documents with other ancient documents, we would see that the Bible is in a class by itself regarding the number of ancient copies and their reliability. Please consider the chart below."
"It should be obvious that the biblical documents, especially the New Testament documents, are superior in their quantity, time span from original occurrence, and textual reliability. People still question if the documents are reliably transmitted to us; but they should rather ask if the biblical documents record actual historical accounts.
The Bible is a book of History
It could be said that the Bible is a book of history -- and it is. The Bible describes places, people, and events in various degrees of detail. It is essentially an historical account of the people of God throughout thousands of years. If you open to almost any page in the Bible you will find a name of a place and/or a person. Much of this can be verified from archaeology. Though archaeology cannot prove that the Bible is the inspired word of God, it has the ability to prove whether or not some events and locations described therein are true or false. So far, however, there isn't a single archaeological discovery that disproves the Bible in any way."

So all of the animals unique to Australia , to use but one example, relocated perhaps, 12-15 years earlier to the (ahem...) holy land to be part of Noah,s grand ark mission?? Sloths found a new found ability to not just swim but perhaps move at 100 to 150 times their present speed and build, I'm supposing , rafts to get there, circumnavigate an ocean that even humans at the time found an extremely formidable proposition all to make biblical prophesy come true!!Please explain oh bible master..........

No matter what I say, some people will never get it. I do not relish this experience for my ego. I simply attribute them to something larger than myself. I do not hold any power no matter how much I want to say I did it on my own. But Iím simply an instrument and itís only an obfuscation to the ignorant. I have seen it all there is to be seen and they are not always pleasant to the senses but I managed to make sense out of them.

Life is short, and whatever I have left, I wonít take it for granted. Why is it difficult for others to find meaning even in the most mundane or the simplest things? I did not waste my entire life for nothing.

While there are others willing to make the connection, there are others who just want to ruin everything. Itís all really a game. There are those who simply donít know the rules. And they will never learn because they are not willing. So Iím only playing with the other players. If I were you, learn the moves or youíre out, loser.
