This guy is not worried he is sitting there living on and his family keeps giving interviews.
All the while the victims and their families have no voice or right to give interviews to discuss the impact upon their lives.
This man is a monster who killed women in the comfort of their homes and turning south Louisiana woods and hunting spots into his dumping grounds.
One victim fought him so bad her home was covered in his DNA yet still perished.
Another victim was grabbed right from the safety of her home and the ones we know about are the ones he admitted too.
There are numerous women missing from across the river from Baton Rouge and BRPD wouldn't listen to or follow any leads from any other police departments.
They also refused to warn the population so they could take measures to protect themselves.
Yes he really is worried about his final days ending with a shot in the arm.
Sorry but he needs to be executed in a long and painful manner in order to understand what he had done.
I read the book and It broke my heart to think of what they went through with this scum and I totally agree with you in everything you say BUT I still say you are lucky because if he was in a UK prison he would have a menu for every meal plus sky television etc etc and as far as I can see your prisons are at least tough places to live in.I wish his victims families could stop his family from giving interviews and making money from this hell plus if he had committed these crimes here in the UK although the prisons are soft my god someone would have got to him by now. Women killers have to be well protected in our prisons because someone would soon get to him . My heart goes out to you all TRULY AND SINCERLEY X

The real killer is still at large, now working in Jefferson Davis Parish. Notice these killings started right after Lee was "caught." Took a little break for things to cool off, now back at it.

Remember that Mr Gillis the other serial killer admitted he knows of one other serial killer in the region that there were three men working the region.
But derrick todd lee is the one linked by D.N.A. to Pam Kinamore and Murray Pace.
This piece of scum is right where he deserves to be.
But he deserves to be put to death for the piece of dirt he is.

I found Mrs Kinamore on the east bank of Whiskey Bay under I-10 where this low life bastard left her all alone. If you would have seen this poor lady and what he did to her, you would agree to get rid of him ASAP, regardless of the color of his skin. For her families sake, I will not tell you what this animal did to her but believe me when I say, he deserves a lot worse than he will get!
I'm so sorry for what must have been a terrible experience. I often feel so sad for the sweet young woman who found my daughter Murray. Derrick Lee should be executed and the system should be amended in cases where the forensics are so strong to exclude the post conviction process. His appeals have already been rejected by the US Supreme Court, but he has two more sets of appeals left. And, you are right about what he did. There's no vocabulary for it. You truly can't imagine.

The victims have every right to voice what impact this has had on their lives. There is no reason they can't....1st amendment right.

Guess you don't understand the south to well.
If the judge tells you to keep silent and you don't that is contempt.
Contempt in other states is serious but nothing like a judge down south considers it.
This monster is going through the appeals process and if you taint any thoughts the judge has might force this to a retrial.
Meaning if he gets a retrial there is the possiblity of bond if he was to get bond guess what he is loose on the streets again.
The odds for bond are very slim if not impossible but if you violate his right to due process.
Then game over and the D.A.s have to start all over to attempt to get a conviction.
His defense attorney's will then fight tooth and nail to get as much evidence removed from the jury ever hearing it.
The people of southeastern Louisiana deserve the knowledge he will either rot in jail or they will flip the switch on this dirtbag.
Please remember I knew a victim and it changed my life forever.
We worked together for a brief time and she was sweet, smart and kind to me.
Not a day goes by I don't think of her and it haunts my life like so many of the victims families.
She was just a really good person who was kind and giving and he murdered her right in her home.
This monster took the people of Baton Rouge and subjected us to a horror show up close and personal.
I am sick of this dirtbag and his little pitty pat party and his family getting rich off this creep and his crimes.
Flip the switch toss the dirt on the body and be done with this animal.

Why do you in the USA delay executing these monsters . I am always in awe at your prisons because ours are far too soft over here but why do you give them all years on death row and allow so many appeals which take years and years. I am with you all the way but I just wish you had a time limit on the wait for the execution because surely after just a couple of years there cannot be any mistake when an innocent person dies

Because in the past our legal sytem has executed innocent people.
This guys lawyers are arguing he is mentally retarded and couldn't have done this.
Yet his DNA is found at numerous crime scenes and yet he will live on.
He grabbed one woman and she was never found alive again and dumped her in whiskey bay.
Whiskey Bay after dark is a creepy spooky place and I don't recommend anyone going there.
It is barely a place I would go to in the daytime since it is isolated and one way off the freeway and one way on the freeway.
The legal sytem has to be absolutely sure he committed the crime.
Our system believes better one guilty person goes free then a innocent man be imprisoned.
It's not perfect and I hope this animal gets strapped in and someone flips the switch soon.

So are you trying to say the Judge put a gag order on the victims and this is why they cannot talk! Under those conditions, sure I understand but that is not what was said. Without a gag order, the victims have every right to speak their peace. If others can write books about the case, so can the victims speak out. I feel very bad for the victims and the way this changes their lives, yours too. Nothing will ever take that pain away. He does deserve the death penalty, and it is a shame that the law allows him so long to appeal when his guilt is not questionable in the least. I can see a little peace in the victims lives knowing he id dead and gone, but their pain will remain. Jennings, La has a serial killer on the loose today, and it has changed many other peoples lives as well. La definately has enough victims of serial killers to start it's own foundation.

An appeal to the higher courts is no way affected by the victims statements after the trial has been completed. Louisiana Supreme Court does not turn around any direct appeals of Capital cases. They leave it to the upper courts whom have the right to refuse to hear the case, which is what they will hopefully do in this case. No court here in LA would set bail for Derrick Lee no matter the case, and if they did- it would be so high that it could not be met. He will never walk the streets again. That is a given.

I do agree with you redlands about letting one go free in-case an innocent gets the death penalty but it just seems such a long time for all the legal system in your wonderful country to work through all the appeals. At least your prisons are really good and tough prisons and unlike over here where even people on life terms have such an easy life ( TRULY THEY DO ). They all have televisions and actually have a dinner menu where they can pick the next days meals. Unless you are a peodofile or a child murderer (they have special protection) you have a life of luxoury . Redlands sounds so wonderful to me . I bet you are surrounded with beautiful hills and honestly everything I read or hear about America shocks me to hear about crime because you would think people are too happy living there to want to commit awful crime etc etc

It does take too long for cases to get processed here. The new Chief of the Louisiana Supreme Court has put together a panel to investigate why it takes so long to process these appeals. More tax payer dollars at work.
They too should study why the LASC rarely catches the constitutional errors in cases which causes them to have to go through the United States Supreme Court for further review adding years to the appeals time. I wonder why when all appeals have been exhausted that the LASC allows some cases to sit unprocessed without being sent for execution dates. After the challenge of the constitutionallity of the lethal injection (the Baze case) was ruled on by the US Supreme Court, I understood there were five cases in LA waiting execution dates according to the Capital Appeals Project. These cases obviuosly remain unprocessed. Why??? Is it the Governor, the LASC themselves holding these cases or who?
