"The Obama administration tried last year, in January 2015, to expand the definition of 'floodplain' by executive order, thus expanding zones requiring insurance. But Obama’s program, the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard, was defunded that April in the Republican-led House, through an amendment introduced by two Louisiana congressmen: Ralph Abraham…and Boustany."

Boustany's district was reportedly one of the worst hit areas by the LA flooding.

I didn't realize the number of Americans who believe climate change is human mediated only amounts to 41% of the population, if I even read that correctly.

The article says both countries are denying professional experts opinions. Sometimes you have to because sometimes they're just wrong.

This article is just some guy's opinion. He's wrong.

It is not just some guy's opinion that there is a stupid, denialist core in the US regarding climate science, because it is all of the qualified scientists except for about two, the CIA, the Pentagon, all the global reinsurers, every nation that realize climate change is happening and is being largely forced by human activity. There is a stupid denialist core on the facts in the US, but you find them in intellectual backwaters.

It is a no brainer.

Climate change isn't real so why was it even being discussed?

Look, 1st there was acid rain that was supposed to kill everything. Then there was deforestation-that was supposed to kill everything. Then the ozone hole-also supposed to kill everything. Now there's "global warming".

Many "global emergencies" keep surfacing and this means it's fake. Faked probably by the left for whatever agenda they have. So I don't buy it for a minute.

And then you have the hacked emails revealing it's a hoax (short memories; you don't recall it was already exposed as a fraud?):

http://www.wnd.com/2009/11/116657/

I'm not surprised the hacked emails proved it's a hoax when you have repeated "global emergencies" happening. I mean, come on! Sure, sure it's real. A lot of "global emergencies" just keep happening, really it is. It doesn't look odd at all. Yeah right.

Tell that to all the global re insurers, every country, all the qualified scientists (you don't respect rationality or the scientific method,) the armed forces and the CIA.

It's being discussed because it's important and because discussing reality is a way to rebuke stupid conservatives and those who fakely deny being conservatives.

There were no emails showing a hoax or showing data being manipulated. That more Swift Boat- Birther-Benghazi conspiracy insanity and lying. The emails were discussing how best to present the facts to mouthbreathers.
