Budget proposes $71M in cuts to Louisiana colleges
Louisiana's public colleges face cuts of at least $71 million in next year's budget proposal - which awaits debate on the House floor this week - and higher education leaders will be pushing a bill to allow the schools to raise new fees on students to cover the gap.

As usual, just like the feds, the cuts start at the bottom or near the bottom where the money is needed.. Why/ why? not start at the top. Cut salaries, cut expenses, cut health cost down to level of the average working man or down to medicare. cut the large retirement salaries. Let them retire and pay social security. Cut the state employees.
