At a yard sale one can find items worth buying at an affordable price. These people had high priced junk, I have seen better in the garage dump.

The point is to bring in tourist, which means more money, more jobs, more business, better opportunities. The worst thing you can do is talk smack and chase people away. The State of Kentucky back this up because KY is struggling financially and this helps to boost the economy. The average person coming thru, spends about $325 during the sale, multiply that by the number of visitors and on the other side of it, businesses (hotels, gas stations, restaurants) all benefit, whic means you have job. As for the person who is selling stuff, it may give them money that they could not have made during the year. So don't be selfish, think about how this event helps your community, even if traffic is heavy, so what, it gives you something to talk about...right? i have found some whopper deals at yards sales in my life. BUT i could not stand 400 miles of it because alot of ppl lay out warped tupperware lids and such.a few hrs of browsing -im done.

Your the nuts. Get some education under your belt, learn at least the basics of the internet.

THe reason a person from California promotes it is because no one from Campbellsville stepped up to the plate when I started the event 5 years ago, read the newspapers so you will know who does what . And "yes" my family included other cultures, not just one group, and yes we speak other languages too, so what do you have to say now?
