Mystic - when have you ever seen a tax increase that was "temporary" and stayed that way? And you wonder why people vote NO for them. Screw the Democrtaic leadership in Ohio and Columbus. Their entitlement programs and redistribution of wealth to those who don't pay into the sytem need to be the first to go...and never brought back.

The people in charge of making the recommendations for cuts, most likely just target the areas that they think the public will be most worried about. ie "The sky is falling."

I think it is time to weed out some of the dead weight in the gov. Bring in line benefits to that of the private sector, stop the roll over of "Personal" and "Sick" days, etc. Work for the people, instead of against them. Be more productive.

Have you ever noticed on a "State Holiday" how many cars are not on the freeway, just the working folks.

It is time for the people in government to be the same as the rest of us.
This is your change

Please name even ONE tax increase that was truly temporary once enacted.

Wow, that is tragic. I seriously hope they are able to find alternate methods to plug that funding hole. Just think how much the quality of life would decrease for a large percentage of Ohioans should these cuts take place! There will be no safety net for the low income, the elderly, the disabled... forget about quality of life (that will go out the window) health and safety will be at risk for nearly everyone.

How would we ever expect to pull out of such a slump if Ohio has nothing to offer in the way these basic services? I certainly wouldn't want to move to a state that does not care for those most in needwith no parks/forests, and a poor educational system - Neither would the best and brightest. If you can't attract employees, you can't attract companies, and if companies leave then we are all in a black hole of trouble

This has to be Bush's fault somehow. All of our problems are inherited from the Bush administration. Strickland is a Democrat as is Obama, and Democrats like those guys cannot be at fault for this. It has to be Republicans. It's all Bush's fault.
