personally if you try to illegalize sex for ppl under the age of 18 your gonna see alot of rebellion in the system and society. i think that when a person decides to has sex that's their personal choice and that means that they are ready. pushing for illegalizing sex under 18 is just wrong. it's a personal preference, not b/c they saw it on tv and whatnot, sure there is peer pressure but hey if a person is ready then their ready. don't punish them b/c it was their time to do it.

why do u all keep bringing up religious stuff i dont think the parent should have much say in how many times teen wants to sex or anything as long as that teen is atleast 15 years of age oh and for ur info im 16 years old .
<quoted text>
At 16 not 15 do you really feel you are ready to be a parent because whether you practice safe sex or not there is always the possibility of that happening. You know as parents we have all been where you are now and said the same things you are saying now, and I am sure we all wish we had listened to the advise we were given. I do not think there should be a law on the age a person is ready for sex.

I can understand why you are confused. You do not get it. The bottom line is protecting children, not this privacy, not adult rights, not anything else but the children, because so often in the fight to protect rights, childrens rights are often trampled upon. And how else whould you compare Pro-Abortion. As far as I know, and if you know different, Abortion is Anti-Christ like, for he simple reason he teaches us that life begins at conception. If anytwo words did belong together, it would be Anti-Christ like and Pro-Abortion.

That's a problem. Parents are supposed to set rules for the kids' well being and safety, and then when the parents are with other people, the other people let them get away with what they want; trying to be a friend to them instead of someone they can look up to for guidance and direction.Galatians 5:1, 13-18 and Titus 2:11-12 says that God's Word and Holy Spirit help us to recoginze the difference between the dangers of CARELESS FREEDOM that lacks love and restraints, and the true, liberating nature of GODLY FREEDOM which has protective boundaries. Now I am not trying to say you are a bad parent if you didn't raise your kids up in church, I am just saying that MAYBE your son would be different if you had of. I don't know if you did or not, just trying to help, not offend. I don't judge anyone.
yo dude please dont bring god in to this it has nothing to do with god it has to do with uderage sex not preaching about how great ur god is and what he say should be cus what should isnt always done.

problem is the new Ag is a DEm and the gov os a DEm, and they think you should be able to abort like it's a mcdonalds, not to mention ignoring tiller the baby killer. dreppesion lets you abort in the 8th month,,,,This is why the Dem party is off it's rocker.

If a 13 year old is having sex, then it is rape. This is Kansas Law. There is no such thing as consensual sex with a 13 year old.
If a 13 year old is pregnant, then there is physical evidence of a rape. A felony.
I believe that we hired our Attorney General to enforce our laws. Doing nothing, or refusing to report a rape is IMHO obstruction of justice, and an accomplice to a felony crime. I think this is a good law. If the abortion mills want people who rape little children to walk free, then they need to have the laws changed first.

Stupid law- How can you tell either is having sex physically. There is nothing on a male to tell, girls can loose virginity w/o sex. Why do we assume every case of young sex is rape by an adult-- geez, get a life. If we educated about sex better in school at least we would reduce teen pregnancy. How many of you havent "played doctor" when you were little. Sex is a natural part of life, parents need to educate, and give guidence to their children, not pass off responsibility to others.

Okay, so I'm not really God, but this is deffinitely what He would have to say about all of this.
"My dear children. You wonder why everything -even sex before marriage- has to do with me. You wonder why people keep bringing me into this. Well, it's not so much them bringing me into this, as it is you trying to push me out of this. This country was founded with me as it's original foundation. I have every say in this.
America may be a free country, but the reason it founded and allowed things like free speech were not so much for people to try to get rid of me, as it was for people to be allowed to profess that I Am God.
Do you see all of the problems and petty dissagreements that are now being generated because you have left Me out of this?
You may consider a law about not being allowed to have sex before you're 18 to be 'unfair' or 'conservative', but I put these boundaries in your life not to harm you, but to protect you.
Many of you say that it is no use because kids will rebel and will start having sex more than ever before. You are right. Many will rebel, but not all of them will, and those who have will receive there punishment from Me in full.
Stop trying to solve this youself. Stop trying to say that you are smarter than Me and that you know better than Me. I created you, not the other way around.
Sex -since I'm God and you should listen to what I say- is not supposed to happen outside of marriage.
What is with my dear children these days? Trying to act like adults and doing things only married couples should be doing? Why do you rebel against me so adamantly? Do you really, truly not know any better?
Talk to me sometime up here in heaven. I always answer. It may not be the way you want it answered, but My plan for you is a lot better than your plan for you.
And if, by some chance, you try to excuse this ALL away by saying that you don't believe in Me, well, my child, I shall see you on Judgement Day.

Love to my lost children,
God"

I am a school nurse at a middle school in Topeka, Kansas. I will tell you that it will be impossible for me to keep the trust of these saevy kids if they think I will "fink" them out.
They need to trust me so that I can help them and encourage them to do the right things for them. For some kids I am the only person they have. Bad Law !!!!!!!!

I agree with all comments with common sense and religious. Teens are sneaky and hormonal... They will get away with what ever they can and until they get caught no one will know what they did legally and/or illegally. I'm pretty some of us had done something we're not suppose to. Just ask one of the people who reported the research. They ask for it, don't like, then report it or tell stories that will make themselves look like the innocent one.

You'll have to put every high school kid in jail. That's the impractical side.

This is a very important issue that must be dealt accordingly. The culprit should get the penalty they deserve.

carol, my exhusband and you're right to presume, never watched the kids while we were married and I was working my butt off to make ends meet. I even got the cops called over my middle son taking off way, way down the road when I was at work and their dad was supposed to be watching them!I even got put in jail for a bounced check in another county from like 7 years back I didn't know about because he would check the mail and then throw away the mail he didn't want me to see, and would even go so far as to take money out of the bank account and not tell me so I could put it in the checkbook! I had to take my days off and clean the house because all he would do was lay on the couch and watch tv. So, I divorced him and I started dating a coworker, and he and my son got along great until I let him move in with us. He's a great father himself as he has a boy that lives with his mother, and he's never brow beat my children. But, I don't know about my eldest son. I tried to get him counseling and therapy and depression meds, all to his defiance. Did I do something wrong? My kids seem to really like their dad's girlfriend. Maybe she doesn't lay boundaries for them like I do.
