How about you get YOUR facts straight!! Following excerpt from Greene County Daily World:

On March 23, 1984, Cliver, who was a state trooper at the time, went to the home of his ex-wife, Jerri Lynn, where he shot and killed her boyfriend, 38-year-old Donald Clayton, and shot and seriously injured his ex-wife who suffered multiple bullet wounds. Two young children were there at the time but were not harmed. The house, in Dugger, where the shooting took place, was the one Cliver had shared with Jerri Lynn when they were married.

Cliver had served as a state trooper for nine years -- his career ended abruptly.

Cliver fled. The gun used in the shooting was found near a railroad track in Evansville. The car he was driving was later located at the Atlanta airport and there was speculation that he had fled to Puerto Rico. After an extensive manhunt, Cliver was finally apprehended in Florida in May 1985, and brought back to Indiana.

Then in October, about two weeks before Cliver's trial was set to begin, he broke out and escaped from the Sullivan County Jail.

Another extensive manhunt began involving multiple agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) but Cliver eluded authorities for another year.

The following October, Cliver was caught in Florida after a Florida Highway Patrolman stopped Cliver for driving a stolen car on an expressway near Orlando. Cliver shot the officer in the chest. He survived, avoiding more serious injury because he was wearing a bullet-proof vest, but Cliver got away for a few more hours.

Cliver reportedly exchanged gunfire with a Wells Fargo guard who was in the area then commandeered a newspaper delivery van and forced the driver to help him escape.

Doesn't sound like a crime of passion... that's when you walk in on your SPOUSE and find them banging someone else... NOT your EX!! He trespassed, shot two people and attempted to shoot a trooper. Now tell me you want him living anywhere near you and that he needs your sympathy? Better yet, why don't you go piss him off and see if you live to tell about it??? MORON!

No, I wasn't there. But I worked with his EX-wife, AND my father was a prominent attorney in town.... pretty sure I have the details correct. I also babysat for his son's best friend and overheard many details from him. That good enough for ya? I don't want the nut anywhere near this county. Remorseful or not, do you think that matters to his TWO ex-wives????
