Agreed. Pam Malumphy, the Regional Director for the MA Office of Business Development, has the most economic experience out of the list of current candidates.
Guess who got her the job? Jim Ruberto, what ever happened to loyalty!

Headline June 11th 2009
Manchester Daily Express

City man accused of driving car at officer

A man who dodged Walk-a-thon barricades and allegedly accelerated his car at a Manchester Police Officer was arrested on Thursday June 7th. Jonathan Melle allegedly drove around barricades set up for the annual Easter Seals Walk-a-thon.
Manchester Officer John Cunningham directed Melle to stop, and Melle allegedly accelerated his car towards Cunningham. Cunningham then jumped out of the way avoiding the car. Melle then tried to get out of the car, and struggled with Cunningham as the officer tried to put him under arrest. Melle was subdued, handcuffed and arrested.

Why should Pam Malumphy be loyal to Mayor Jimmy Ruberto? Moreover, politicians should NOT be in the business of handing out patronage jobs. Malumphy's job is a state job, not a city job. Mayor Jimmy Ruberto has done a terrible job on economic development. Ruberto failed Pittsfield on jobs!
Melle's a nut job, but he's right on this one.

Actually, I don' know for sure who I am going to vote for, but it ain't Ruberto (he failed) and it ain't Bianchi (his skill set is ok to represent a ward, but not to run a city).

plenty of jobs out there . problem is no one wants to work. Everyone wants to make 20 dollars an hour but have no skills . you want a job go down south street there is a big help wanted sighn outside of subway and many other places. But yes you might just have to work hard and work your way up the ladder. but that is work and everybody wants the money but realy do not want to work for that money.

I'll assume that since this article is still on the front page that you still want comments. Here's mine: there may well be 2,000 jobs out there, but the pay and benefits are ridiculous in comparison to the job my wife lost. Sure, she'll go back to work at something - anything - when the unemployment benefit runs out, but until then we literally cannot afford to give up the money. The next move may literally be a move - somewhere else. Which would really suck since we have lived here all our adult lives.

This article lacks any evidence, except the quote from the BEDC. I felt the need for some proff of this, such as quoting availability of jobs in different sectors. As one of the young adults in the area who returned here after university I have found the job market to be more geared to low skill levels. This I can see as one of the main reasons for young adults to leave due to the lack of growth potential in the jobs offered in the area. There may be job positions opened in the Berkshires but is the salary comparative to the cost of living on par is the problem with the area.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Sagittarius

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
