Agreed. Pam Malumphy, the Regional Director for the MA Office of Business Development, has the most economic experience out of the list of current candidates.

No one cares! stop ranting about yourself and stick to the topic! |

Melle's a nut job, but he's right on this one. Actually, I don' know for sure who I am going to vote for, but it ain't Ruberto (he failed) and it ain't Bianchi (his skill set is ok to represent a ward, but not to run a city). |

Jeepers, I wonder if it could be Malumphy? She will not make it out of the primary, so whatcha gonna do then? |

plenty of jobs out there . problem is no one wants to work. Everyone wants to make 20 dollars an hour but have no skills . you want a job go down south street there is a big help wanted sighn outside of subway and many other places. But yes you might just have to work hard and work your way up the ladder. but that is work and everybody wants the money but realy do not want to work for that money.

Can we please change this from always being on the home page? It's super annoying. Thank you very much Berkshire Eagle!

I'll assume that since this article is still on the front page that you still want comments. Here's mine: there may well be 2,000 jobs out there, but the pay and benefits are ridiculous in comparison to the job my wife lost. Sure, she'll go back to work at something - anything - when the unemployment benefit runs out, but until then we literally cannot afford to give up the money. The next move may literally be a move - somewhere else. Which would really suck since we have lived here all our adult lives.

Oh, and by the way - who the hell is Jonathan Melle and why does anyone care what he thinks? Ignore him.

what web site is this at ? |

This article lacks any evidence, except the quote from the BEDC. I felt the need for some proff of this, such as quoting availability of jobs in different sectors. As one of the young adults in the area who returned here after university I have found the job market to be more geared to low skill levels. This I can see as one of the main reasons for young adults to leave due to the lack of growth potential in the jobs offered in the area. There may be job positions opened in the Berkshires but is the salary comparative to the cost of living on par is the problem with the area.
