yes, it did happen, nothing, to my knowledge has ever come of it. There was a huge fire in downtown anderson around the same time frame, and stories I have heard have linked the two???? I was a child at the time, but I remember going downtown and watching the fire.

does anybody have the location on were the trailer was on when the hollandsburg murders happen at ?
Hi! I know the exact location of where the house used to sit because my sister-in-laws parents used to rent the property.( there is a different house there now the original used to sit north to south, the new house sits east to west)It is only 5 miles from where I live but I don't want you to get in trouble if I tell you the whereabouts of the location.(The land lord is a hand full). If you just wanted to do a look from the road and not tresspass I can tell you the location. I was lucky enough to get to know Mrs. Spencer in the final years of her life, she was a very kind lady. she died a few years ago and her and the children are buried near the home they shared in Hollandsburg.I was seven years old when the murders happened, and remember overhearing hushed conversations of what happened between my parents. It was a big shock for everyone. I have been a native of Parke county my whole life so I know where a lot of stuff is around the county. My email is sissy19692004@aol.com if you email please put Hollandsburg in the subject line so I know it's not spam. Thanks

Does anyone know the story of a member of the Shelbyville High School class of 1968 who was either a serial killer or killed his family? I thought I had heard this story, but I now cannot find anything about it.

This man has had amnesia since Aug. 31, 2004. Voice experts say he could be from S. Illinois. Please look and listen. If you recognize him, leave a message here, or call FBI Savannah, Ga.- Bill Kirkconnell. Thanks

I'll try my best. The town is Ray's Crossing, IN, but the larger town close by is Shelbyville, IN.
You can take 65 to 465, which loops around Indianapolis, then I would get on I-74 East towards Shelbyville. Take the 2nd exit in Shelbyville. At the stoplight off the exit ramp, turn right onto SR 44 east. Stay on 44 about 2 or 3 miles. You will see the VERY small town of Ray's Crossing. Turn left into Ray's crossing, road is 600 East. You will drive past the Shelby Eastern School Administration building, then hang a right on 250 North. Left onto 650. Then right onto E. Union Rd. Stay on Union Road for a short distance, Then turn left onto Short Blue Rd. This is a winding road that all of the stuff is on. Keep going straight on this road until it T's. The area before the T is WereWolf Hollow. At the T turn Left, this road will take you to the Smiling Tombstones. There is a Old Baptist Church across the Road from it. You can't miss it. Hope this helps. I am not the best with directions. I just get up and go there, never paid much attention to all the road names.
Another thing that is fairly close by is the Catholic Cemetery at St. Paul, IN. I have heard there is a Tombstone/Statue of a little boy. The statue did have a concrete hat on his head. Vandal's destroyed it many years ago. Park your car in the cemetery, get out and start calling for him to come and get his hat. As expected, he is supposed to appear and try to claim it from you.
Werewolf Hollow is a sham.

Someone was on the Terre Haute board claiming that her brother was trying to slowly kill their father. The brother finally got busted for drugs, but no mention of elder abuse. I thought your post might have been related to that family.

I am looking for any links or information on a murder that took place on River Road in Shelby Co. Ind. in the early to mid '90's, I believe. A man was picked up from Big Jim's Tavern in Shelbyville Ind., then found the next morning dragged to death behind a vehicle for approx. 1 mile. Any links, information or suspects, or even victims name might help. As a life long resident, I've never heard anything strange on River Road at our favorite swimming spot, but now I'm finding websites that say the area is haunted.... http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/indiana....
Your best bet is to go to the library in that area and research it. Go through the newspapers of the time period. If you know the name you maybe able to find an online obit on the library's website like Vigo County has or If you go there you they have death indexes. It will give the date and the pages. If you do not live it the area you could call the library and usually for a small fee they will look it up a and mail it to you. Good luck in your search

Don't believe to much of what you read on shadowlands most are urban and local legends. Such as almost every place has a cry baby bridge etc. Some have some basis in fact but the truth has been stretched and twisted. Like I said the best bet is to research the info yourself.

I was wondering about a murder case from back in the early 80's A Mark Ariens was missing for about 3 or 4 days,He was found shot to death at the Laurel conservation club at Laurel.Did they ever find out for sure who killed him? Also that Boyer boy in the 70's was found murdered in the canal on US 52 down by the hearth Stone.Seems like the Cold Case Files Show should check into a lot of the cases around our area.

I would love to know about the Mark Ariens case. I always heard about the story. My brother was really good friends with him, & happened to not be there that night. The story I was told was that he was at a party & had a large amount of money on him that night & was shot 3 times in the head. No one was ever charged!!! Kinda weird. would love to have any info if anyone has any!!!

I don't know if it is or not, but it sounded like it might be. It involved the Vigo County Commissioner that was busted for dealing meth.

I am wondering about several cases, and why they are not reopened. The Jason Dale Bolton case, the story I heard about a gillespie woman in the 70's who was beaten and thrown off the Laurel bridge, I heard her body was never found and the Ariens case, personally I think Laurel is jaded and I am curious about the history of it, there isn't much available and so much has happened there, the town has history no doubt, there's the haunted house where years ago they found a babies body wrapped in a chimmney from the 1800's I think and there are so many stories, I mean the town is like super small and theres cemetaries all over the place, and a burial ground for indians(I think) there was also that murder from 20 something years ago where a man was taken out from behind the longbranch and beaten and murdered and the body was never found those involved were convicted even with out a body.I'm just wondering if anyone knows the towns actual history and why so many unsolved murders in such a small seculded town?
