Two GOP candidates won governorships by running campaigns focusing on IDEAS and POSITIVITY... not on social judgment and slander. I'm still trying to figure out why I am nuts for saying that Palin is a polarizing figure and would not be a good candidate at this time. At least one other person referenced Romney's health care disaster in Massachusetts and several also thought that both he and Huckabee are also ran's who never were in 2008.
I am looking for a candidate who is willing to mkae the hard choices and take a stand on the issues that are so divisive in this country. I happen to LIKE Boehner's style, even though I am from the neighboring of state of Pennsylvania. ( Most of our reps and our two senators have Play-Doh for spines.) I like Pence (? Have not seen the spelling of his name so this may be incorrect.) of Indiana as well. I reiterate that I do like Palin as a public figure. I just don't think that she would be a viable presidential candidate in the foreseeable future. The GOP, and I repeat, needs to look at some new faces with no-nonsense approaches. All that pie in the sky hope and change "ain't" working out for me. |

Your posts are a little bit addled, but I think I get your point. I happen to disagree with your assessment, though. She was cleared on some of the Ethics violations, others were dropped because she quit. Either way, Her SarahPAC would've been able to cover her legal defenses, no problem. She wanted money for her BANK ACCOUNT. And she was simply tired of being Governor. She did nothing noble, or patriotic, or brave by stepping down-- she branded herself a quitter, a selfish individual, and she left under a cloud of suspicion. Notice none of that was aimed at her family. I feel extremely sorry for her children, especially Bristol, who was paraded before the country in a very unfortunate way. And I don't quite see how a husband who belongs to a secessionist group could ever be seen as patriotic by ANYONE... but I'll admit I'm a little perplexed by the motives of those on the right these days... |

1 I admit freely that I am a Democrat, but I have to tell you Pence has not a snowball's chance in hell for 2012. Not only is he divisive and inflammatory (kind of a Michelle Bachmann Lite) but he's a Congressman-- and President's simply don't come out of the lower chamber of Congress. But while speaking of Indiana, I will say that I personally would be intrigued by Mitch Daniels. This is a good man, with a positive message and conservative bona fides, who enjoys bi-partisan popularity in Indiana. I'm amazed he isn't on the national radar at all. I might even consider voting for him, although probably not in 2012. Because I think Obama is doing a great job in extremely trying circumstances. And unless something goes terribly wrong, I'll gladly vote for him again. My hunch is that a majority of Americans will follow suit. |
