I am against horse slaughter, and I was wondering about anyone else. For the people who would like to do their part in banning it, please contact not only our senators but the ones from other states also. Senator Evan Bayh opposes Horse Slaughter and wants to see it end. He is a co- sponsor of one of the bills to end the barbaric torture of our horses. So please people research horse slaughter and you will see how bad it is and even if you dont own or have never been around horses, dont let that stop you from doing your part in helping to protect them. All horses, ponies, donkeys mules are not exempt from slaughter once they get in the wrong hands, It does not matter if a mare is ready to give birth to a full term foal, or far enough along to have a viable foal she will still be slaughtered for the meat to be shipped over seas and then it is sold to the rich people for up to 20.00 a pound. I ask again please help our equine friends by writing to senators and other members of congress.....Donna

I am happy you feel that way, it is very sad and just wrong. Please research it and you will see what is going on with our horses. The slaughter houses have no problem slaughtering pregnant mares or even foals. Please email the senators and voice your opinion on this issue. I dont know if you are aware, but there is a horse slaughter house in Dekalb Il. Also there is a auction house in Shipshewanna Indiana that many kill buyers frequent and many horses end up going to the slaughter houses...The more people that voice their disgust with this barbaric practice the sooner it will end hopefully. Thankyou for giving my post attention, and please tell your friends that all equines need our help and our voices since we are all they have that care enough to help them....Donna

i am for it. Horses have posed a threat to civilization for thousand of years. A few years ago a friend of mine ran into a pack of wild horses that ate his three year old child stomped him until he was unrecognizable. Im glad someone finally has come up with a way to exterminate them. America faced a similar problem like this when thousands of muderous buffalos terrorized early western settlers. A well executed program of skinnings resolved that issue in a relatively short time. Horses - your days are numbered!

Please,,,,,What the heck is wrong with you? I asked a very simple question and why is it people have to make stupid immature comments? I have never and never will eat horsemeat, and as far as hugging my horses no one needs to tell me to do that.

I have one question and I don't mean this in any way bad, but what is the difference between a horse and a cow? A horse looks pretty? Some people look pretty and some do not. I have found that argument to be bad. I am not pushing for hores slaughter, I just wonder why a horse would seem different then a cow.

I am not sugesting we eat horses, maybe eat less beef. I am questioning our reasoning at all. Why do we eat rabit and not dog? Why do we shoot snakes? Because of how they look? Just a fundemental question. Food are like lawyers. We'll eat cows if we don't think about what we are doing. We'll sue some one as long as a lawyer does the dirty work.

I dont feel you can fairly compare horses to cattle. Cattle for the most part are raised for meat, most lead a very placid leisurerly life up until their times comes. Most horses at one time were someones partner, companion, friend. Horses are trained and used to make bigggg money for a lot of people, horsed are used to help kids that get in trouble, and also for therapy for kids and adults. horses have been able to help kids with autism.

There is so much more to this issue then anyone knows especially those that have never been around horses. All I can say to those that have never had a closeup look at these magnificent animals, please research them and the torture they go through. All you have to do is type in horse slaughter. or type in horse rescue and it will take you to web sites that will knock your socks off. This is not a subject that one should poke fun at, it is very cruel.

I suppose horses raised to entertaining people in one way or another love what they do.

As an unrelated observation, did you know that round barns were built round originally because they saved space for triangular-shaped cattle -- heads toward the middle, hips toward the walls? Arranging them in that configuration kept them warmer, too.

#1 NEVER RUN INTO A PACK OF WILD HORSES!!!
#2 horses don't eat people there NOT carnivores
#3 horses (or any animal) attack when there scared or when people randomly go into there pack (i mean if someone that you don't know came in your house you wouldn't offer them a drink and be nice to them you would probably call 911 or attack them yell at them or something)
#4 horses arent a ''threat'' to civilization people are a threat to horses
*i didn't make any of this stuff up*

All animals are dangerous. If you ran into a pack of tigers they. They would also mangle you.

Horses have been pulling plows for many years. Many horses have carried us to battle. What was George Washington riding? a cow? Heck no. We don't need to eat horsemeat.

I own horses and love and enjoy them very much. People
you really need to think about it. Do you know why all those horses at the sale barn are sold for slaughter? Because no one else wants them. If the owner dosn't want them and no one else does what are you going to do? If yoy can give reasonable answer for that I will change my mind about horse slaughter other wise I will have to be FOR horse slaughter.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Leo

Your sunny temperament has returned, dear Leo, as the Sun and Venus dance in Sagittarius and the marvellous Moon shines in your sign. Whatever the day has to offer, it should bring you some pleasure and laughter, so arrange something nice if you don't have anything planned. Your power to charm is considerable right now and it will make you a big hit with whoever gets the full force of it. But don't give someone the come-on if you don't mean it.
