I keep seeing these posts fro m some of the illiterate parents from that place and wonder if it makes a difference if these kids are taught early. Here we have in unknown another person who thinks a period happens once a month.

You morons need to stay at school with your kids. All those kids aren't developmentally delayed. Some are from good homes. It's a daycare center at the expense of my tax dollars. Close it down.

Once again, no punctuation. Are you just trying to be obtuse? It's daycare with some teaching mixed in. Yeah, you're a 24/7 (probably single mother) who doesn't work. Congratulations, you can make a baby.

It is funny that you try to sound brilliant by cutting down other posts for having errors when your posts are full of errors in judgment and reason. I hear many people supporting the ECC that have actually been there and have seen the school. I think many of you who are passing judgement on Ecc in a negative way are ignorant of what it really is. You simply do not know what you are talking about because you have not been there. I have. Ecc is a federally mandated program that dates back decades going back to the IDEA laws from the 60's and 70's. The teachers are not babysitters. They are highly trained professionals most of whom have masters degrees in early childhood education, speech pathology, special education, and school leadership. By the way, I do not have a horse in this race. I just hate to see ignorant people spouting off to others then cutting them down for spelling when spelling is not the topic.

Brian is right. It's clear that Mannie works at that place. And by the way Mannie, you know you are wrong. ECC is not mandated. Other districts don't have it. They got rid of it because of the cost. The only thing mandated in education at that age is special education and we know that is a very big voting block for liberals.

You may not have a horse in the race Mannie but I bet you have a jackass.

Wrong again! I'm not an early childhood teacher. I do not live in GC either. I am not an astronaut, but I do understand the reason for spending on the space program. I find it funny why it would matter if I am a liberal or a conservative a teacher or steelworker. It has nothing to do with ECC. I vote Republican, But I would not call myself a staunch conservative. I vote with thought not bandwagon emotion or out of fear. Ecc is not a political entity. Nor is it an entitlement program. Unless, you think public education in general should be eliminated. In which case perhaps you are more of an anarchist rather than the conservative you seem to think you are. I ask you, where do you draw the line? Do you support programs that only serve your own interest? You may pay more in taxes than I do, but does that entitle you to determine where the money goes? In your short sighted view of this republic you fail to see the benefits that programs may have for the future. I think it was Reagan that said something about trickle down economics. Consider this rising up education. Wouldn't it be great if some of these kids were able to get a head start on education and become productive tax paying citizens rather that the leaches you forecast them to be even before they have had their 5th birthday? I really despise people who feel entitled to judge others based on their income levels, or poverty level, whichever may be the case. Truth is, you are no better and you are a very few economic steps away from poverty yourself. The carpet could be pulled out from under anyone of us at anytime. Programs for children give us hope not waste.

Wrong Brian it is,and you need to look up obtuse. I find it funny that people like you have to resort to foul language and insults when you can't face facts. Early childhood (special) education is mandated. Pre-K is not mandated. Pre-K is grant funded, E.C.Sp.Ed. is federally mandated and funded. You will allways have Early Childhood Ed, it will just be moved into other rooms in other buildings. I find you to be obtuse.

What a nice straw man argument on me Mannie. STraw man arguments are the true identification of a liberal posting.
Now it has been shown over and over that pre K offers no long term benefits. Once so gets out of preK they go back to the old routine of living with parents that do not care about their child's education being they only had the children for welfare collection purposes only.
Seriously give it up Mannie. Not everyone on topic belongs to the welfares set you preach to and may I remind you that the state is literally broke from funding these silly little programs that provide the liberals with a paycheck.
A suggestion I may offer is since you love PreK so much...why not open one in your home for others to enjoy at no charge and quit expecting hard working taxpayers to pay for your pie in the sky ideas?

With crime running rampant on the streets today a better investment would be more prisons than more prek. Illinois by the way till, as a great vote buying move for the bottom feeders, the former Governor Rod provided free preK for all.
Rods in jail now himself and its fitting that he is just for his taxpayer robbing ideals. Now if we could just get the rest that need jailed there too instead of the countless spending that does nothing to reduce crime on our streets

Let's address unknown first. You my friend are special ed aren't you?
As for Mannie I call BS.

Clearly if she didn't live in Granite and work for the school, she wouldn't know so much about this place.

Just look at the Fox 2 banner on this post. Districts cutting Early Childhood due to budget. Enough said. Mannie knows all the ins and outs because she's an in. She either works there or is one of the many school district relatives that do work there.

And Manny, in the previous post "jackass" is not foul language. It's a satirical offset to your horse in the race.

exactly it goes to show if the state wouldn't keep offering free medical care free food people would cut down on their family size they've limited the eic on income tax refunds due to this . Which is. good thing only took about $30 away from welfare benefits an then they say they made budget cuts i say cutting down to half of everye would give the welfare suckers a reason to work get off the couch and do 9/5 job i also understan thay their is working poor as well that are not lazy but fall thru the cracks an still qualify for something
