Being divided about same-sex marriage is about as significant as being divided about inter-racial marriage. BOTH are legal in Illinois. So it makes no difference either way.

Unfortunately PRIOR to the 66% INCREASE in Illinois income tax, there was a MAJOR protest in Springfield where people were DEMANDING for their taxes to be INCREASED!!

The protesters were afraid of losing all their FREEBIES and expected not only that other people PAY for their freebies, but also PAY MORE out of their paychecks just to support the people who pay little or NOTHING in state income tax.

When people vote based on what they can GET from the government, RESPONSIBLE candidates don't stand a chance.

Illinois needs LEADERSHIP rather than a governor who thinks his only job is to cave to the demands of the GIMMEs.

The 66% increase in income taxes needs to EXPIRE. It will take both LEADERSHIP and COURAGE to cut excess spending and return that tax increase back into the pockets of the Illinois worker.
