There is a concern that McCain is tanking too early. Maybe the Repubs will find a real candidate to run...oh, wait...not possible. Ya can't fight a movement. This is less about Obama and more about taking our country back!! Neo-conserves have had their time destroying our country. We need authentic, smart, and noble leadership: Barack Obama.

Clarence, I think you speak for all of watching the two campaigns. It's just embarrassing to watch McCain hit one wrong note after another. I support Obama, but I expected McCain to put up a decent fight.
Perhaps the Republicans have followed the Atwater-Rove playbook for so long that when McCain told his team he wanted an above-board campaign they drew a total blank? They're at a total loss for suitable ideas?
Remeber McCain's senior advisor Mark McKinnon who resigned because he said he wouldn't campaign against Obama? Maybe he just knew how this would turn out. Prescient.

DEMS NEED CLINTON

Truth is American people have not been sold on Obama, who has a modest lead in the poll: There are plenty of signs that Obama hasn’t closed the deal; if anything, he's simply grabbing on to the reverse Bush coattails at the moment. A majority (55%) think he would be the riskier choice for president, less than half of respondents say he doesn’t share their values and background, and McCain clobbers him on experience and commander-in-chief questions. This election, in fact, has become a referendum on Obama: 51% say they are focusing more on what kind of president Obama would be, versus just 27% who say they are focusing more on McCain. More... The Arizona Republican senator has an 11-percentage-point advantage over Obama when voters were asked which candidate’s background and set of values they identify with more—58% said that candidate was McCain, while 47% said Obama. 43% said Obama does not represent their values.
Time for Obama to call Hillary!!!!!!!!!!and FAST

OBAMA IS POISED TO SELECT A REPUBLICAN AS VP RUNNING MATE!
Barack Obama's vice presidential search team named member of President Bush's Cabinet, Ann Veneman, as Obama's top choice VP running mate, next in line two more republicans, Hagel and James Jones above any democrat, completely shutting out Senator Clintons 18 millions democratic supporters.. This guy is a huge mistake.
The mention of Veneman's name surprised Democratic lawmakers. The low-profile Republican was close to food and agriculture industries but clashed with farm-state Democrats and environmentalists.
Veneman, biography A Republican raised on a California peach farm, she rose to become the nation’s first female agriculture secretary.
The selection of a Republican could bolster Obama's unifying message, a Capitol Hill Democrat familiar with the discussion said.
Other Republicans mentioned as potential Obama running mates include Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel, who accompanied him to Iraq, and retired Marine Gen. James Jones.
UNICEF spokeswoman Kate Donovan declined to comment on the news that Veneman's name had been mentioned as running mate to Obama. She said Veneman is traveling in Africa and could not be reached.
Though Veneman's biography and Republican affiliation make her a plausible, if surprising, candidate to be Obama's running mate.
"Are you serious?" one lawmaker asked vetters when Veneman's name came up, a second source familiar with the conversations said.
The surprise stems from the fact that, while Veneman was seen as an experienced leader for her department, she often clashed with Democrats on a central battle front of the Bush years: regulation. Venemen was criticized by some Democrats and environmentalists, and praised by agriculture and food interests, for lightly regulating the industries and for encouraging trade and biotechnology during her tenure.
She also clashed with Democrats — including then-Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, who is now an Obama confidant — over subsidies for small farmers, which they sought to expand.
In the best-known incident of her tenure, she led the administration's response to cases of Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis, known as mad cow disease. The epidemic was contained, but the relatively light U.S. testing regime has led to continuing barriers for American beef exports

The "sea of well wishers " came to the FREE ROCK CONCERT which ahd 2 of Europes most popular bands playing !!! Read some German magazines especially the one with the front page cover ofan exhausted and frustrated Obama and read how the Germans don't "trust him." Wake up and stop this blatant favoritism for Obama- its nauseating . For Chirs Matthews of MSNBC - to say that he " gets this tingling sensation up his leg when Obama speaks " is too too funny and utterly ridiculous !!! You media people cannot see that most of us are sick of Obambi- but then again you report only what you want to report, not the facts or unbiased opinions. You r all in for a shock soon cuz ole Barry is losing his fans much like he lost the troops that he ignored while he was overseas and then tries to blame it on the Pentagon- yeah right . uh huh Barry.!!! Time for some more glorious and plagiarized oratory from Obambi !! His cheerleaders are going crazy because he is still in Europe. The Fairy tale continues !!

Unfortunately, Mr. Page, no Republican can use the line "Are you better off today than you were x number of years ago?" in this election cycle. They are trying to pin the economy on the Democrats on the basis of their having had a slim majority for the past two years, but not many will be forgetful of the Congress having been controlled by the Republicans for the previous twelve years. All the Democrats have to do is show some video clips of the Republican primary debates when the candidates fell upon each other to show who could say the most glowing things about the economy. This election is going to be more than a mano a mano fight between McCain and Obama. Obama, BTW, has the economy on his side too.

Umm, the 3-point photo op you are gloating about was staged....swiissh?
Obama would not allow press reporters at the event. Seems more like an air ball to me (See Andrea Mitchell's response)
Maybe the real change we can believe in will come some day when our news sources return to giving us the 'news'(see 'facts') rather than telling us who and what we should believe in base on their own desire.

Much of what Mr. Page says is true. Yet, the Gallup organization's latest poll as of Thursday showed the race to be in a virtual dead heat. Why do you suppose that is, Mr. Page? The European tour, in spite of gushing columns such as this, also showed Obama to be a pompous vessel spouting empty phrases and sounding as if he were running for president of the world, criticizing the United States in the process. And then his character really showed when he snubbed wounded American soldiers because the military would not allow him to turn it into a campaign photo op. No, we learned a lot about Obama on this trip and much of it reinforced the solid image of John McCain.

Clarence, don't become a racist dolt - you're too smart for this.
Obama is living up to the black tradition of excelling in basketball. I guess that means he is qualified to be president.
case closed. Never mind that he is a black supremist and supporter of the Louis Farrekhan (a muslim) wing of hate America and Whitey.

Memo to all Obama supporters .... his choice for Vice President will be a woman. No, not Hillary .... see: Caroline Kennedy!
McCain will counter with Condolezza Rice (who meets Obama's standard of speaking more than one language).
Mark my words.

Obama's trip was supposed to be a "fact finding" excursion to increase his knowledge and understanding of our involvement in Iraq and Afganistan.
He clearly belied this as his true purpose when he declared his reinforcemen of his previous stated position just prior to going on the trip. The logical deduction from that was that he had made up his mind and nothing he would learn would cause him to change his position. In effect, obviating the need for the trip, other than as a way to attain a public relations coup.
He has failed in his pr attempt ... since the only ones apparently fooled by his inance speech to the Germans (reminded me of the scene in the film, Mars Attacks, where the Martian addresses the People of the Earth - earily similar)
I might be wrong about the film title - but it was one of the many scifi flicks about aliens attacking earth...

We don't need more Bush, we don't need more Bush Light,(McCain) You see McCains insistence on pursuing Bushes ideas. He's just a tired old face on old disastrous ideas. Just Bush on life support. He's too old even prosecute good ideas if he had them.

Clarence - do some more research and you'll see where Obama copied from speeches of several Europeans and JFK. His rhetoric was nothing new to the Europeans.

Read the New York Times article today "CHANGE GERMANS CANNOT BELIEVE IN " - ole Barry didnt impress them at all. It is true that Der Spiegel, the German newsweekly, featured Mr. Obama on its cover, topped by the words “Germany Meets the Superstar”— but the cover was satire, and nasty satire at that. The editors managed to find the ugliest photograph of Mr. Obama ever. The facade is slipping Clarence and your home boy is in trouble. Keep the road show going !!! Gives us more ammo to use against Obama and his terrorist, criminal and racist friends.

As well as stealing lines from the American hating J. Wright-"Audacity of 'Hype'", and Bono no less, "this is our moment, this is our time". I was just disappointed that while in Berlin Barry missed the JFK moment, "Ich bin ein Wiener(Berliner)" or translated as Kennedy said, "I am a jelly DOUGHNUT"(Wiener).lol!

John McCain's problem is captured nicely here: he doesn't get the press attention he needs because he hasn't set forth a coherent central theme for his campaign - for the simple reason that he has no central theme.
So far, he's just run as the anti-Obama, pointing out the flaws in Obama instead of the pluses in McCain.
You can't win, Senator McCain, if you don't tell us what you stand for (besides more of the same old crap that got us where we are). And if you don't, you don't deserve to win.
