The Chicago police will be able to cut budget 75%, without the crime rate going up. The thugs are getting the ACLU to fight the ruling.

Sound psychiatric diagnosis. All the symptoms fit the majority of mouth foaming liberals on here. Immaturity, denial, wanting other peoples' stuff. It all fits.

Well paid private security, usually State contracts. You'd be surprised how many people will pay others to protect their property/persons,and how much.....

<quoted text>Well strap on that hogleg Pilgrim and take a paseo down 8 Mile. We'll pass the hat for your bail money..... NOT. No really, take that open carry stroll in any large city in Michigan and you will not be ignored. SOME busybody or concerned citizen WILL call the police and you'll be explaining your "Constitutional right" to carry. I know you have it and agree 100%,but the more liberal element, like you,see fit to be squeamish about such things.
If you're not willing to exercise your rights, then don't be suprised when people try to take them away from you.

I've open carried in Lansing & Ann Arbor & Grand Rapids and never had a problem. The one time a policeman stopped me on the street I simply showed him my handgun owners permit to prove I legally owned the weapon; we had a nice chat about our common prior military service.

Btw, I wouldn't go to Detroit even if I were driving a tank and carrying a bazooka.

I exercise them every day. One of my contract employers require going armed, with a complete duty rig similar to what LE wear. THAT pays pretty well. Others prefer the weapon not be seen. I'm comfortable with either. Some employers require an automatic pistol. Caliber choice is mine, usually a .45 auto. Dee-troit? You couldn't pay enough to go there. People have been deserting that sinking ship for the last decade. With good reason.

I usually stick with a 9mm.

As for Detroit, eventually they will just raze that entire craphole (except for the stadiums) and rebuild. It's too waterfront property to let go to waste much longer.

Never tell people how to carry their gun. If you do, everyone (via the Govt) will then tell you how to carry your gun.

The only purpose of the 2nd amendment is to prohibit the Govt from regulating our weapons.
