Conservatives long for the sad days of yesteryear

Nov 4, 2012 Full story: The Baltimore Sun 114

Four years ago, on the eve of the last presidential election, I wrote in this space of how the country has spent much of the last three decades "re-litigating" the 1960s, arguing over the changes wrought in that decade.

Yep, they want to go back to days of segregation, women as property, gays closeted, jews restricted to their neighborhoods, asians unable to own property, etc, etc.

Ah, the good old days.......(if you're a straight white christian male).....

Agree, Sheeple!
We want to move forward without the brakes that these rightwingnutballs have used to obstruct science and progressive policies across the board. We wish they would go the way of the Dodo bird. NOW!!!

You ever hear a Republican politician talk in a positive way? No, it's always doom and gloom.

That's just sick and shame on those dirty queer pedophiles.
Queers are disgusting.

We'll find room at the asylum on Wednesday, after the election. Can't guarantee you a segregated cage this time though.

We're not the ones who headed out to WalMart with a $5,000 check to buy baby wipes and canned goods for their "supporters" who showed up without stuff for their pseudo food drive/political rally. Of course that was AFTER the Red Cross specifically told people NOT to donate such crap since it was and is too difficult to distribute in emergency situations.

Republicans have real issues about following instructions, but then we all knew that, especially the old white guys who seem unable to read a birth certificate. Not that they, along with yourself, are outright bigots. They're just playing one under those sheets.

Your remarks are confusing. Give us some examples to better understand your point of view.

I don't think President Obama should be using Federal monies to fund queers to get near our kids in the government schools.
Anymore.
It's downright disturbing the inordinate interest queers show in other people's kids.

I've read lists of reasons over and over. I guess you decide not to read them or just ignore anything with an opposing view point.

On a positive note, marriage equality still leads 55-45 in Maine! Even accounting for those supposed christians who lie to pollsters (isn't that a sin?), we have an excellent chance of getting our first victory on Tues.

Excellent news but civil rights should not be voted on.

Agreed, but one way or another they ARE voting on our civil rights. Whether it's a popular vote, legislative vote, or a vote by the justices, the simple fact is our rights will be voted on.

The only question is how do we win these votes. We've figured out how to get the votes we need from the legislatures and increasingly the courts. It looks like we may have finally figured out how to get the votes at the ballot box as well, at least in Maine & Washington.

There is nothing civil about a man committing buggery on another man. Quite disgusting and very unnatural and unhealthy.
You obviously aren't doing it right then. I'm sure there is plenty of porn out there to show you how......
